In fact on my LT kit I want to grind the lower steering stop off my LBJs since the LCAs move lower than the stops do and I've gouged out the LCA a bit.

and @Squeaky Penguin this is what happened with mine:

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/XCFeXut6QcZiuAHG9

That was what I found after I jacked it up and took the wheel off.

You can see the stud moving.

No idea why. I had to use 2 thick washers to get it to suck down again. Otherwise at full torque the stud would just spin in the LBJ as it would run out of threads.

That last shot isn't of it torqed down.

    Yes, only at full lock
Are you running these with those two washers?

He had to at the time because the LBJ stud stuck through so far that there were no more threads for the castle nut to torque on. The washers cover the non-threaded part of the shaft.

Sounds like Solo sent him some new ones, that hopefully won't have that problem.

Here's where the old ones ended up with the two washers:

yeah I did until this last week. That said, I don't drive Igor much really. Not a DD. But drove it at least another 3-5k like that Id guess..

Solo did not send me new ones. Not yet anyways. Tearing stuff apart and then want to call them to see what's up.

Ahh, gotcha. I thought from one of your posts that you had new ones to install. Must have misread. Hope you get it sorted, was super weird.

Also glad to hear that Brett didn't have the same issue, so hopefully it was just a one-off problem.

Speaking of front suspension, my spherical bearings are squeaky as F again. Only a couple months and 14K miles (and mostly pavement) on the new ones, so will be interesting to see what condition they and the misalignments are in... could be a 3x per year thing for me, I guess.

Brett's are brand new. I didn't have that issue when new either.

Austin had the same issue I did though after a few thousand miles. So something isn't right.

I have new LBJs to install mostly just as preventative but also wasn't sure if my LBJs were fucked. Austin's were fine.

Im doing misalignments but one of mine is fused to the bolt..again..It's been snowing here again so haven't felt like going out in the show with no heat...and the door open..haha

Were your factory ones stainless? Mine were. They're a different part number - like FXS10T maybe? Might work better for you who puts the miles on quicker. They're like triple the price though.

Or try to find @Dirty Pool 's writeup on making a spherical bearing 'seal'.

Something in my steering column broke.
I dont think its related to one of my inner tie rod being on the way out
Huge deadzone in the center and lots of audible and physical clunking when turning.
Going to tear apart tonight and investigate

i'll be curious if you find anything. I have a clunk that happens when I take a swift right turn and it loads up the suspension on the driver side.
Haven't been able to find play in anything so I've been thinking it might be something in the rack.

Ill keep you in the loop, I could see the clunk feeling being from the rack but judging by the noise I’m getting in the cab Im almost certain its something under the dash that has gone wrong.

My inner tie rods are on the way as-well so I may take the opportunity to dive into the rack a bit deeper to see how its holding up.

I had a similar ‘during turn thump’. Check your upper and lower control arm bolts/nuts. Mine ended up being really loose after a alignment.

Question for you all, is there supposed to be a bolt here? I’m noticing there is a lot of movement in my rack and all the other mounting bolts are torqued to spec.

Sway bar end link. You won't be able to tell if its bad until you take it off the truck. But i'm positive that this is your problem.

edit: unless you've removed your swaybar of course. lol

I saw a pic floating around and I’m sure it coulda been the angle it was taken from but I wasn’t much of a fan and only saw that one pic. I’ll see if I can find it, wasn’t on my truck.

Regardless post yours up so we can get another view of it.

edit: I think this one might be from their site but not sure. I feel like the rack might be too far back but idk.
