My adult kids continually honor me every day through their character so I decided to show some reciprocation. One of my daughters tattoos (I think she has around 13 tattoos now)

    and mine20200116_054757.jpg
They say "Imperfection is beauty" in Italian. The crouching man was done over 20 years ago with a Walkman motor. My friend Aaron drew it out, I approved the drawing, and then when he tattooed it he changed it drastically. Lol. The man's cap/hair (whatever that is) is actually a cover up that was done years later. The lettering on mine is made up of logs, I wanted to copy my daughters but give it a country style of a twist.

Next I want to get my version of my son's
    20200116_054725.jpg
His is a video game character (in Smite). His Smite team got 2nd place one year and 3rd place in the following year at the Smite Worlds Finals in Spain (cha ching).

After that I want to get a Rat Fink in a hot rod.

Had two more sessions over the last 2 wks. Still have some shading to do on the knee and possibly a bit on the claws. Had to hold back on the knee area since i had DBL knee surgery 5wks ago and incisions still healing. Otherwise, time to pack in some color. Yeah, definitely a good time (not). Certain spots in and around the knee were’nt so bad but there were some times/ spots where i was hating it. Sure didnt help that my knee’s were still healing and super sore/ swollen from knee surgery only 3 wks earlier, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I was suppose to get my knee cap done at the Philly convention this year, but we held off because of potential knee surgery and I didn’t have the next day off from work. I was kinda bummed. Did you luck out with the incisions? Any damage to your ink? Curious about how to proceed with mine because of the potential for surgery.

Well i got lucky with being able to time my surgery 3 wks prior to starting the knee area. As for incisions they are healing up to almost un noticeable and its been 5 wks since my surgery date.
When i had my shoulder surgery several years back, where they made incisions in my shoulder which is fully covered it healed up to basically like it never happend. Guess theres never any guarantee’s but i got lucky that time

Got my first one about a year and a half ago. An Oscar Wilde quote that my stepsister drunkenly painted one a basement wall at my mom’s house. The first time I saw it was just after a breakup and during a period of change in my life and it stuck with me. I’ve written it in toolboxes and on door frames that I’d frequently pass, and finally had it out on my skin permanently. I drew it up the way I wanted it and the tattoo artist polished it and 100% nailed the final design. It’s a constant reminder or me to jump at opportunities as they present themselves and pursue the things that make me feel alive. These are things that my past relationship kept me from doing and I think that’s why the quote spoke so loudly to me when I first walked by it.

my artist is the owner of the shop. I’ve been going to him for almost 10 years. He did a private session. Blinds drawn. Doors locked. All the lights were off except his booth. Kinda cool.

    but yes, he’s “shutdown”

We’ve come to a point where I have one small section left of my sleeve, that we are gonna wait till we get to my back to connect the two. Nice little two hour session Friday night to fill in the gaps and finish off the elbow. Gonna throw in a “whisp” from Celtic folk lure with probably a snow drop at some point when we connect it to my back.
