Anyone peel off the black hood decals on a Pro?

Just picked a Pro up today. Don't really care for the black hood graphics around the scoop. Also concerned that the Phoenix, AZ, heat will damage them sooner rather than later. Should I remove them now while they are fresh? Has anyone removed theirs? Thanks!

 

Nope, I would have more of it if anything. Keeps glare from reflecting. It’s also part of the look of the truck. Go ahead and debadge it and replace the suspension, wheels and skid plate while you’re at it

 

Mines been sitting outside in TX heat for 3 years, looks like new, so I wouldn’t be concerned about sun damage.

 

I don't care for the look either. Just vinyl so removal shouldn't be problematic at all.

 

If you are gonna remove it, do it sooner than later or you may have ghosting

 

I did the opposite. I wanted to prolong the life of my Pro “tribal” hood graphics. I elected to have the entire hood wrapped in EXPEL PPF.

 

My pro didn’t have the graphics package, I added the bedside decals but I think the hood looks much better without the decal. I say pull it off now.

 

Find a sport owner that wants the decals (if in equal condition) and just swap hoods. I am sure plenty will jump at the opportunity.

I vote for sooner rather than later if you want to remove them. I'd rather see Toyota do a matte black hood, or a full matte black hood wrap on the Pro.

 

i looked before reading and was like.. that truck has two different whites. Obviously wrapping the hood did that.

 

You have about 3-5 yrs to decide.

Any more than that and it's going to be a heck of a time getting it off. Hood vinyl does usually crack and break first. But it's not for years.

 

Use a hair dryer or, very carefully, a heat gun.

 

No, the grill color is slightly off but you can only notice it from above. I am going to live with it since my front end has been EXPEL’d.

 

Not dissing! My truck is three/four different colors between dips and cap!

 

I removed it.


So I could have a full front Suntek wrap done, then I reapplied a new one on top.

 

I removed mine. After a hot day it peeled off easily. I needed to ceramic coat mine so I removed it and the vinyl between the door windows. Also got rid of the vinyl lettering on the tailgate. And lastly I popped the Pro emblems off and the emblems on the tailgate. Now she's naked...lol

 

How much does that cost and I’d guess the more graphic intensive the more $$?

 

I had the front end partially wrapped, the hood fully wrapped, the two door front door windows ceramic tinted, the front roof edge wrapped and the bed decals covered with PPF. It ran me around $1600. Why? I am a very anal retentive individual.

 

Why even ask? If you’re thinking about it, pull it off.
