Toyota is closing it's San Antonio plant (where mine was built) next week for 2 days to "conduct a thorough cleaning" due to this covid-19 mess. Hopefully it's only 2 days, but still, something to think about.

I got to work on some mods yesterday. I still love the look of the interior but I also dislike chrome, I will probably end up changing the door handles at some point too. I should be getting the LED bed lights, wheel locks, tailgate lock, blackout Tacoma decal, and door sill protectors today!

 

Nice! How hard was the for the knobs?

I managed to snag a Stage 1 Total Tail Light kit from MESO. I will have that and the headlight trim panels to do plus some other minor things to keep me busy.

 

Knobs were probably the easier of the two. Just watch meso's video and its a piece of cake. I was able to save everything, so if I want to, I can put it back.

 

Bed lights, door sill protectors and black Tacoma emblems. Easy peasy, don’t let the dealer take your money!

 

Is it true there is already a plug for those lights?

 

Yes, right behind the taillights. And you don't have to cut out the hole anymore either, it's just a panel you open/unsnap.

Placed my AG TRD Pro order last week. Dealership gave me an estimated delivery date of May but that was BEFORE this whole covid mess so hopefully that 2 day toyota plant closure is accurate. Looking to contribute to the thread when it gets in!

 

I'm 100% with you. If you're going to knock on the pros, dont go out of your way to turn it into one. I mean, I'm not going to lie, I was hesitant about dropping the extra 20k on a pro as well but after realizing everything I was going to add was already on the truck, installed AND covered under warranty, I didnt look back. I'm super happy with my purchase. Cant wait for it to be built and shipped.

 

Welcome to the group and Team Army Green. Another Army guy sees the light and buys that Army Green color. You'll love your truck when you get it - they are really awesome right out of the box.

Your dealership should be able to keep you in the loop about the production progress. A week or two before scheduled production they should get a notification with a pre-VIN: one of the last digits will be a letter not a number. You can go to Toyota's site and type in the pre-vin and it will show you the programmed configuration. When the vehicle is actually produced, it will be assigned an actual VIN - they day your pre-VIN comes back as invalid will tell you your truck is built. The dealer will get the updated VIN within 24 hours or so - and they will also then have access to a tracking document that shows the projected/actual dates from build to delivery.

If you go back through this thread and the AG Build Date threads you'll see examples. Some people had slightly different processes but the majority of us followed this one.
