for my situation i have to remove it to finish frame mod with a better quality coating, etc.
i only applied it to the rear passenger area of which i only half-completed before the weather got too cold in the late fall to properly primer it
but the guy in upstate NY said he leaves this stuff on year round and just resprays over it, but its nasty stuff! so he may or may not have a big build up of 'gunk'
also, it does not appear this product is very 'see-through' like FF may be so you might not be able to readily see what's going on (if anything) behind the product

Sure on a normal day, but in the mist of the current situation, I mean take some personal responsibility and consider others.

Sure, someone should be screened on return but to say that they should just stay there because of personal responsibility is an incredibly closed minded view.

Not everyone has the means to just continue to live in another country indefinitely if they are visiting. And if your work takes you overseas, you can't just not work at the conclusion of the work trip because you traveled to a place where it was present. That's not how the real world works.

No I get that, my point was the screening / symptoms piece, trust me AD 11 years and now a nursing student, life has been and is far from convenient, I get how "the real world works".

Because I am in a hospital throughout the week for clinical, even though we don't have any known cases I am constantly taking steps to keep my family from getting sick, hence the personal responsibility. Now granted don't know the full story but someone who was traveling to a place like Italy should have been screened or isolated themselves if presenting with symptoms, etc., but with a 2-14 day incubation period, they may not have presented, but I'm also someone who knows people are self centered and given the opportunity, say presenting with symptoms, would still risk everyone else's well being, hence my skepticism / original post.

Not sure your background but if you had any courses in epidemiology with something like CVID-19 its all about isolation and containment. Something that of course has already failed due to various responses from countries including our own. At the end of the day someone traveling from a high outbreak area / region like Italy should have either taken the personal responsibility to have themselves screened or sought screening prior to returning to friends, family and the general public.

Nice failure of government bureaucracy here. ORD was a screening point since the outset of this, wtf are they looking at.

That's a loaded question, i used to work with the TSA and other gov agencies at ORD, it's all theater.

I dont blame the dude I would want to get back here for medical treatment.

So you lump everyone that travels into the category of self centered jerks and stand by it. Nice.

Did you not read that thoroughly? "Don't know the full story" "skeptical" cause yes the majority of society is self centered, which is my opinion, spend enough time in service industries and you may er towards the same viewpoint. Is what it is, looking back I did edit my post and yes I see your thought process in how my post may have came off a certain way but we all have our preconceived views and notions of the world and situations, whether right or wrong, guess in your mind you are lumping me into a self centered jerk group as well. No sweat dude. I'd still without second guessing provide care to that patient and anyone else CVID-19 or not, jerk or not, just like I do now and will for the rest of my working life as well as the 11 years I spent active duty ;) moving on, cheers.

a medical professional i can seek some knowledge from!
is it possible this virus was already in the USA at the beginning of the year? maybe from someone returning from Italy in January?
i hear that a lot of people will have minor symptoms (or none at all and still have the virus) does it just disappear after a certain period of time
or it could just be a common cold is all

Not a medical professional, lol, just a nursing student currently in clinical and about 6 months from graduating, I have a good deal of knowledge on the flu especially with older patients and those with comorbidities (currently on a telemetry floor and its common) and of course stuff from pathophis, pharm, etc. classes. What I can tell you in regards to your questions is that I think very likely it has been within our borders and other country's borders as you alluded to prior to making headline news / reports.

I know a lot of people that had wicked flu / respiratory issues this season (my whole family coming home from Disney late January) who tested negative for Flu A and B but had all the symptoms plus pneumonia, etc. On my floor we had several patients in their 60s-70s with the same signs and symptoms as COVID-19 but negative for Flu over the last few months, but it has also been a wicked Flu season. But this is all speculation at this point.

As far as symptom presentation yep just like the flu and other illnesses everyone's body handles it differently based on immune system, underlying conditions, health status, etc. Data has shown those under 19 being asymptomatic but carrying huge viral loads as well as suggesting that about 80% can manage it at home without seeking further medical care. But that doesn't mean risk it, as you see in another thread here, someone's 25 year old fiancee has had extreme fever and shortness of breath as well as reports in Italy of younger people needing ventilators. There's still alot of unknowns at this point, what data we did have was from China which of course should be questioned and now we are seeing new data that contradicts that data as it makes its way through Europe and the U.S.

As far as like the flu and cold it will run its course, but that doesn't mean it won't be back next year or another year / season and possibly in another form or mutation, viruses are handy like that, what makes this one dangerous is its R0 or R naught factor (how contagious it is) and its features / presentation (attacking the respiratory system and now evidence towards possibly the myocardial tissue).

Not being pessimistic but being on the front lines. It’ll most likely get worse before it gets better. That will lead to more of a lock down approach. I hope it don’t. I hope this does pass without more nonsense

What are they realistically going to do besides drive panic? I mean if everyone just ignores the requests to stay home (I dont see that happening) are they just going to arrest everyone? Mow people down?

Serious question you being part of the FD.

Some concise communication needs to come from the leadership as to what their role is in this, like backstoping first responder efforts for example, before the Humvees roll into town.

Even in California they are not using the national guard and martial law, people need to not speculate / cause undue panic and calm down, 11 years active duty perspective if anything they will be called in to support healthcare systems, etc. As businesses shutter no one is left to do anything anyways besides stay home.
