Hmm... i like the frontier a lot now that it has spcs it handles like the tacoma did

Really nimble and the wheel isnt as heavy

    Still poor visibility

Still a jiggly frame but at least it handles on point and has really good power

if you want to run the included shocks, yes

"1 pair Shock Mounts with Hardware (4200-AP-S-PR) (Welding required for installation)".

You can also get Bilstein 5125 that fit in the stock location -- maybe they can sub them for the size included

See but I thought 5125's were only good for like 0-1" of lift? (Whiiich is what I have now)

They make them in a shit ton of sizes. I am running like 3.5-4" lift in the rear and found some that fit :notsure:

I flexed the truck out and measured for them and ordered from the catalog by part number instead of the "off the shelf" fit ones that parts places say

Man living the Tacoma Life is hard work.

Im just tired of my tacoma looking like its got a stable of fat chicks riding in the bed and hope a suspension refresh helps with this. '

I guess I'll send an email to Wheelers.

    Thanks Br0

Like @Wulf said, there are many variants (for different vehicles/applications) of the 5125.

What's interesting is the set that Wheeler's offers, is an inch longer both collapsed and extended than say, Bilstein 5100's or certain Bilstein 5160/65's.

If doing any welding, I'd opt for full 10" or 12" traveling shocks...but that's just me.

I've come to that conclusion after having jotted down different Bilstein shocks (from different series, including short body reservoir) only to find that the money is better spent on say...custom King's, Fox, or ADS.

I don't mean for this to be condescending but there are often hundreds of shock options with various length/travel/valving that are offered by each MFG. For sanity sake dealers often only list 1-2 part numbers as fitting but more often than not there are plenty of options that will fit if you measure and order by a part number

See, this I did not know. I figured they were one size fit all and the legit custom lifestyle ones carried their own number.

Not condescending, Im asking to learn. Makes sense

Thank you for your time gentleman. If I knew what I was doing enough to get the right shocks and weld on new brackets for extended shocks I'd do it.

    You're good brother.

I only found all that out because I was so bored at work one day with hours to kill, that I compared the valving for shocks aimed at our trucks (by Bilstein) with those universal variants.

Then compared the shock lengths for the different series, availability, etc.

Took awhile, and in the end I was like "why the hell would I spend $300-400 for rear shocks for a total of 9" in the stock location?"

It's all good. makes life a little easier if you ever find yourself with a custom application need. Pretty simple to measure then look in a catalog to find what you need. Even Monroe/Gabriel etc have catalogs so you might be able to save money on shocks in a pinch :D
