I’m looking at low-profile window vents. I’ve found the AVS “flush” style and the weathertech in-channel.

Im leaning towards the AVS but there are few examples out there for them. Was wondering if anyone has some they are willing to post photos of. The one person who sent me a photo had a 3rd gen and I like them, but would just like to see some “real world” photos besides what google has to offer.

Sorry, another gen.3 here. Nothing but In-Channel for me.

If you want proof they are better, take a look around at all the broken vents glued to the paint of any vehicle.

P.S. I would almost think they are the same, as the doors look the same as a gen.3
Just the front end & box changed. But PLEASE do not take my word for it and buy them without trying them.

I have the avs in-channel ones on my 2013 double cab. They came on the truck when i bought it but i highly recommend them.

    Here are a couple pics

Ive read that the in-channel versions last longer, i personally wouldnt install any of the stick-on sort, id be too worried about them falling off over time

These were the photos of the ones from the guy with the 3rd gen, I like the fit of these. Just wondering if any 2nd gen’s has similar photos before I pulled the trigger.

Heres the closest ive got to that. Mine appear to stick out further and dont sit as flush as the ones on the third gen

I have weather tech, I would use avs or another brand if I had to. Same purpose just save yourself some extra $

I have the EGR in channel version on my Tacoma and they have served me well for 5 years. I bought a Lexus GX with weather tech branded in channel visors already installed and they fit like crap. When the windows are rolled down the front visors rattle.

    I prefer the weather tech.

In channel is the only way to go and you can pull them easily anytime you want and reinstall.

I've got some of the early stick on type, I want to say Weathertechs. I've replaced a short strip of the 3M tape on the driver's side near the mirror but otherwise they're still holding fine, been on since '06. If I had to replace them I'd go with one of the in-channel just because it looks a little cleaner.

I have the AVS in channel style on the sides and they have worked well - 5 years and still look good. The trouble spot was the rear window "hood" I added that is a "stick-on" - fits across the entire back window. After 4+ years (baking in the Arizona sun) it abruptly pulled free, flapped and broke in half and slammed the tail gate as it flew off at 80 mph. No traffic, it was late on a Sunday nite on I-10. Can't find the papers - but was supposed to have a AVS lifetime warranty.
    Rear Window Shade.jpg
Already replaced - between the tool box, dark window tint and shade not alot comes in the rear window.
