Because the shocks aren't limiting your travel unless you have some seriously flexy leaves :luvya:

Dakar's are in my opinion, some of the bottom of the list leaf pack options that still yield a good amount of flex.

Plenty of posters on TW have done shock relocations while still using say, Dakar's, and being able to utilize the additional travel the shock offers....why? Because they have a longer traveling shock and they've adjusted their bump stops to reflect this which only tells me, aftermarket leaf packs (even direct replacements) offer a good deal of flex.

Maybe not to the point where you're using your truck the way you do...but enough to take advantage of longer traveling shocks via shock relocation.

If u got the money and don't mind the mud being in places it shouldn't be; some may see it as a "good idea". Me personally I haven't mudded in years haha.

Broke my power steering pump in the previous ram cause it was another 2wd truck and I was cranking the wheel left and right without the front tires spinning while mudding. We all are not immune to dumb shit :homer::homer:

My front end was up to the bumper and top of fenders in thick farmland mud. Tires not spinning means they aint cutting into the thick mud to relieve some friction/stress of the wheels turning left and right. Physics

yup, like 2 giant paddles struggling to wade back and forth through the thick muck. Eventually that shit just snapped and it was my fault for not thinking

My pops drove the damn thing back without any power steering and was using his full body weight to turn the wheels on our way home haha

Lol back then 7-8 years ago Instagram wasn't as huge to promote the "dorkel" scene when I owned that truck.

Only a 2 inch spacer and some 265's like a classic high school kid

steering isn't really meant to be constantly working. it builds up a lot of heat really quickly and heat causes the fluid to break down and contributes to pump failures

I've killed 2 power steering pumps on the trails just doing lots of slow switchbacks
