yeah, lucky. Guyana then Brazil later in the fall.

    Nice! Are you sewing these?

I made a tent this past summer for backpacking (really for elk hunting) and it was actually really fun. But frustrating at the start.

    :p

Be safe down in Guyana, I've heard some crazy stories from that area!

No sir, I'm not a very good stitch witch. That's from the auto interior shop. They're making me a crazy custom boot.

Yeah I’ve worked a year in Guyana, it lives to its rep.

Good deal getting it done local, it’ll be made right! I need to eventually replace my shift boot cover, my son stepped on it, still does and it doesn’t quite attach to the console like it used to.

Making progress on garage 3.0. I'm doing a Chinese field day. Everything is getting moved and cleaned and then reorganised. I figure I've got several days to work on it because work has all but died so I best get it done while I can!

Here's a bit of a preview of what's going on. It's currently in a state of absolute disarray, it doesn't always look this way so ignore the mess for now.

I picked up a work bench at Lowe's to replace my old one. I'd been using a huge old computer desk and it always pissed me off because it's not really tall enough to work on without killing your back bending over it but I never had the space for a chair. The new bench is also tall enough to stand over my fridge and one of my toolboxes so even keeping the old desk didn't cost me any floor space. In fact I gained some real estate with the added surface area. The lamp on the right was my grandfather's. I loved playing with it as a kid so I was pretty happy to have it working again. The left is an engineers work lamp from my uncle.

The old work bench, it's going to get moved again.

I'm in the process of shifting these shelves over to the other side of the garage
    261F6766-F397-4B08-BA2B-816E32EAA4D6.jpg

The dirt bikes will stay on that side but with the shelves gone I'll have a lot more room to move around and work. I'm hoping I can get enough space cleared so they'll park up against the wall when I'm done.

    C7AEEC46-9AC2-4B70-8815-B3244C5969CA.jpg

Next I want to move the camper to the other side of the garage. When I back in to remove it or install it, my truck is up against the wall on the driver's side and I have to scramble out through the passenger side. It's stupid annoying. Especially trying to get the truck lined up underneath it by yourself. I have to crawl in and out like 5 times. I'll move the storage rack on the left to hang over the garage door on the side the camper is on now and I'll move the camper to where the rack is now.

If I don't have too many distractions, I think I can finish tomorrow. I'll have a lot of things coming up for sale as well. Starting to downsize as much as I can. Got some big changes in the horizon.

When I got out of the Marines one of my friends tried to hook me up with a security job at a gold mine down there. I didn't take it but I've always loved of wondered "what if" about it. The pay would have been unreal but I don't think I would have liked the work.

I think the shop is going to reuse my old frame but if they don't I'll be happy to pass it along!

Thank you, sir! There's been a lot of that going on lately. Started to lose my mind a bit the past few weeks/months. Trying to get my shit together! Or at least stay so busy I don't think about it all.

Nice work. As I slowly get some of the family leftovers sold and out of the way in the middle, I can go back to work on mine. Soon as it's clear enough though, have to build some stuff for the sons bedroom - THEN I can play in the garage. Oh, first the yard again.... Looks good my friend.

That’s my big project on the list as well. Main problem is too much stuff in garage I need a separate shop to work in. I hate doing all the reorganization but when it’s done it makes me feel good. Too many tools and toys not enough room

    Thanks, Kurt!
I'm feeling yesterday for sure, my back is killing me

That's my problem. I keep my Jeep, two dirt bikes, 4 toolboxes, two woodworking boxes, 2 storage racks in the ground, 1 chemical rack, a torch, welder, huge desk, and a mini fridge. Not including all the crap in boxes hanging from the roof of on the shelves. It's a tight fit but I've done more with less so I really want to maximize as much in here as I can.

    Thanks, Matt
    It's a pita but it's worth it!

Doesn't look like it now but there's going to be a shit load more room. We're getting there

That definitely does! They advertised this one as a two-car but they'd have to be small cars to fit two. Even empty I couldn't fit my truck and the wife's car.

I built mine 24 deep and 30 wide attached to the house. I offset the doors toward the house leaving me about 9' of dead space on the end away from the house. That dead end was supposed to be to house tools. I did not anticipate the addition of 2 welders, a plasma cutter, another tool box,and a big ass 4wlr. I just need a seperate shop.

    We're getting there

    image.jpg
    image.jpg

Didn't make the progress I was hoping for yesterday but I got a bit done. The pile of things is shrinking and there is a hell of a lot more floor space. My favorite thing so far is that I should not have to move one or two things to get to the thing I need.

This stuff is mostly garbage. I'm keeping the drill, vacuum, and some of the good lumber.image.jpg

This is all going up for sale

    image.jpg

We'll see if I can make progress today. I doubt it'll be much, the wife will probably want to do something other than work in the garage.
