A snatch and light tug sounds delightful right now.

Oh, we're talking about off roading?

I had a highschool friend, who was an electrician, die last year from getting zapped. Granted, he was doing some wood-burning fractal stuff and was alone in the garage while his wife and newborn were inside so they didn't find him until it was too late. So, I'm a tad bit spooked still lol.

Bob, sounds like you have only experienced AC. AC lets go, DC doesn't.

I have had some shocking experiences out of ignorance:
Safeway grocery - asked to change out a fluro tube in deli using metal ladder - minor buzz but enough to get my attention and tell store manager that I was not doing that again.
Navy - cleaning copier with 500V gloves and vacuum to get out the toner - static shocked me enough to drop hand held vacuum.
Navy - life ring strobe light len cap broken, I tilled it up to grab it and the marble rolly ball made electrical contact; I heard the marble but not fast enough to drop it.
Navy - 440V motor controller for minesweep winch, energized but not spooling, I had the red tag on the breaker and OFF but the compartment was loud enough I couldn't hear the buzzing. I used the analog multimeter on 600v to determine if it was live = buzz to get my attention and meter swung up past 120v. This one could have been really bad. Turns out someone had switched on a Red tagged switch.

That's sad. I've seen/heard of too many incidents relating to arc flash. I always double check when I work on anything nowadays.

You can get hung up on AC as well, just not usually 120v house circuits. I’ve heard first hand accounts of guys getting hung up on 277v lighting circuits and their only saving grace was an apprentice who noticed and kicked the ladder out from under them so their weight ripped the wire out of their hands
Arc flash will burn you, but it’s the arc blast that will get you. We just recently had one at my company and two guys were out of work for over a month recovering from the burns. You won’t get a arc flash or blast typically in residential, and if you do it’ll just be a little pop

Hi, hello, I have a set of leaking BP-51s and have the wheels turning for warranty replacements. Those will immediately go up for sale. Any recommendations on sale price? Secondly, whats a good replacement around the $2500-$3000 price range? Shocks that are actually rebuildable and dont leak at random would be a solid plus. I got these for a good price so I can only bitch so much, but I have been fairly disappointed with the BPs.

If you're not running ballistic plates I'd reccomend a good chest rack. More slim, lighter, and more isn't always better. Are you looking for modularity or for ar15 specific ? Lots good companies out and about now, eagle industries was the pinnacle for awhile. Few other great companies rose up and adapted like

    Crye precision
    Blue force gear
    Tyr tactical

Those are very nice and name brand shit you can find some great stuff from smaller less known/gucci brands that do the job just fine

Thanks for the reminder on the terminology difference between burn and flash, definitely important! I use to work on live 277V changing out lighting ballast in the past and wouldn't want to do that nowadays. Be safe!

To add to the list, when eagle was the thing tactical tailor outside of jblm was pretty popular as well. Could be a quick spot to run and pick up something too.

If you don't need to carry plates the spiritus systems micro fight chest rig is rad but that'll me mail order.

I mean for your budget and just assuming front and rears (no ucas) you can pretty much get whatever you want. King, icon, fox, or ads. Kind of a just pick whatever you like. If I were to buy now I'd lean towards ADS personally. But the others are all rebuildable too. I'm just not sure if they have a specific setup for the gx470 or not though

That sucks. Probably time to go Fox or Kings.....

Now, we should not be surprised that "BP"-51's leak. After all, BP is responsible for a lot of oil leaks (Deepwater Horizon anyone?), so when OME named them after BP, you probably should have figured they'd leak oil at some point........
