What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

It's just like a dremel and it uses the same accessories. I like it because I can change it with my other batteries instead of having to stop and charge up my dremel when I run down the battery. I would get another one for sure.

 

Yea I remember you saying that sometime before. I'll double check them because I don't remember the last time I checked the torque spec on both the UCA thru bolts & the uni-ball to spindle bolt.

You sure its coming from your Rack ??..Usually everything wears together, rack,tie rod ends, steering shaft,ect,
I just did that steering shaft Mod and my trucks on point over 100 + on the hwy,I just went though that whole floating thing on my front end on he hwy,did rack, tie rod, and steering mod and its solid now.

I had someone else turn my steering wheel while I was underneath and I saw my entire rack shift from side to side.

 

The Rack will move side to side alittle naturally,if your running polyurethane bushings It will have a little less..

 

Just had my Prerunner converted to 4wd with some 5.29 gears and a rear Detroit locker. And wow! I was missing out

Finally changed inner/outer tie rods (moogs) and LBJ oem’s! Now no need squeeze ass driving thinking when the LBJ’s gonna give. 158k oem old parts for trail spares is a plus

And seriously OEM lbjs all the way.I went with Moog on my first change, they lasted 20,000 maybe, I'm forgetting at the moment.

Installed new rear shocks, Monroe 37113 and 37114. Got a super deal on Amazon $6 for one, $14 for the other, because the boxes were dented. Way stiffer than the 16 year old OEMs that came off. Brief road test ‘round the hood and over some speed bumps and I can’t tell much of a difference in the ride. Its nice just knowing they are there.

 

Amazon Warehouse I presume? That place has some awesome deals. I bought some struts for Taco at buy 1 unopened, one damaged, 2 for the price of one. Had to swap the cap on the damaged one since someone ruined threads on all three studs, but for 15 minutes work, it was a free strut. The old strut cap will work just as well as a new one.

I bought a Reese hitch about a month ago for about $80.00, original price $130. Paint scratch. Who cares! Rattle can. I'd say typically 30-50% off for generally package damage or some minor cosmetic or missing hardware for auto parts is the normal situation.

 

Yes Amazon Warehouse. Where I got my $140 Jensen head unit that I am thrilled with for $85 too. Rear shocks were $40 each but I got them both for $20. That’s crazy. Seems like if you know what (I keep a truck shopping list) you want and you can wait and keep checking back you can score some terrific deals.
