If I was buying one for Debbie I'd look at #2 or #1 in that order. I saw a episode of some outdoor sportsman type program the other day and they had a .22 on there that was $189 and came with 2 mags. I was like WTH!

I need one I could easily carry and I'm not into the kickback lol, one of my first handguns I shot in my teens had some serious kickback and it's not for me. I have bad wrists too so...

Here's something I learned in the last week.
In a crisis like we're experiencing, .22 ammo is a lot easier to find right now than 9mm. Think about that.

On the other hand, If I could get a decent 9mm for $100 more than a decent .22 I would buy ammo in bulk all the time.

Oh, and no one is more vain than me when it comes to "looks cool" but unless you're wearing it on a chain around your neck I wouldn't care if it was flame red with blue polka dots. What it does is always going to be way more important than how it looks doing it.

And yea, I know, I just got mine, and it is new to me but this is not my first rodeo.

    Anyone seen my wallet?
im still voting the m&p for a firts gun, the dan wesson is sweet and im a 1911 guy but its low capacity and heavy weight might turn a new shooter off from carrying it around.

if you like the 1911 design and dont mind lower capacity check out the kimber micro esv or sig p938.

kick or recoil force in a common caliber handgun (.380, 9mm, .40, .45) has a lot to do with grip. Getting your hands choked up on the grip as high as possible, keeping your elbows in, and a proper grip on the frame will manage that regardless of caliber. A heavy slide doesnt hurt but not necessary with proper handling technique.
