Oh, I agree 100%! So many people have lost their lives in the name of religion. It's like my God told me to kill you because you don't believe the same as I do. And not just Christians, Muslims and Jews. But different denominations of religions.

I think I saw that on The Discovery Channel.

Well, that's the latest scientific theory that evolutionists are quoting. Obviously no humans would have been around then to witness that (65 million years ago) - so it will remain a theory, at least until it is changed to another. Actually the meteor theory is relatively recent in origin (1990?), which just proves my earlier point, that even in our lifetimes we see various scientific theories come and go.

    Oh right!

Just like how one dude loaded a male and female of every species that he could round up onto a boat when the entire Earth flooded.

Yes ! and if you really analyze the biblical record you will see that it is quite possible. This site has a log of good scientific info on the Ark, Flood and creation in general:

When the earth was formed, it was a big glob of stuff. Swirling along. Then it all started to bind together. Later, life spawned. WELL, if there wasnt a God, wouldnt all life be the same? This planet is a perfectly ballanced sphere. From the smallest single cell organisim, to the largest mamel in the ocean. As far as Im concerned, its pretty clear there IS a God.

Forget my first question. Lets move forward to the next step in the beginning of time.

So now I ask: How did LIFE originate?

In evolution, the bottom of the evolution chart starts with the one single cell that splits to two then to 4 and etc.

BUT WAIT.............WHERE DID THAT FIRST CELL COME FROM???

Again this is directed at those that voted evolution, which does not include God anywhere.

Evolution speaks of things coming from disorder to order. When in reality, it is the other way around. The belief of everything moving upward toward perfection on its own without the benefit of intelligent design doesn't work. It contradicts itself. The natural tendency of everything is to move from order to disorder for example: A new car begins deteriorating the day you drive it home, the day you're born, your body begins to die, if u leave a brick laying out long enough, it eventually turns to dust, and even the sun is slowly burning itself out. Everything on this earth will perish, but God will always remain, this last sentence just being a summary of (Psalm 102:25-27).

This is just a little bit of a part of one of Dr. Dobson's books called "Life on the Edge". He is an excellent author. And I felt that this made an excellent point.

The second law of thermodynamics is entropy which states that if matter is left on its own, it will reach a state of maximum randomness. That is, things left on their own usually becomes a big mess, and not the other way around, as evolution would have you believe.

what is the basis for the theory of evolution and what is the basis for creationism.

Evolution I would say some very smart people looked at all the slivers of knowledge we have on the subject and came to that theory as one of the most plausible.

Creationism is people filing in the blanks to comfort themselves. often requiring blind faith.

Its apparent something triggered the reality we live in but for it to actually be something that coincides with a man made book and religious lore is too far fetched for me to believe. I am a agnostic myself which seems like a more realistic view of reality in my opinion.

What contains space? what created all this we live and see. We will never know. If you think you do you are mistaking. It is better to realize that than trying to create some pretty picture to humor ourselves. Its ok to not have the answers.

What happens to all the religions that predate the bible and Christianity? are they just brushed aside. Many ancient cultures had a greater understanding of nature and science than exhibited by the founders of Christianity. they had prophecies too.

Wouldn't you have say that these religions that are based on creationism have brought more harm to humans than good?

I am not even going to get into how hypocritical most so called religious people are. not to many actually walking the talk just talking it in most cases.

    edit HAPPY CANDY DAY

I'm just saying that a scientific law states that things don't come together on their own and form something orderly. When things are left alone, they tend to become disorderly.

I thought it was a good point. It just left the door open to look at the story of the bible with the same logic. Cant disprove one theory with logic and then abandon that logic when trying to prove the other. <not that your trying to prove either Just making a general statement>

    I'm flattered! :)

Actually, I agree with you MM. The universe is beyond our comprehension in this life although I personally believe that the Universe is a sentient power in and of itself that may not have needed any outside force for creation. I believe that the Universe follows its own rules, not ours. We have only begun to delve into it's mysteries, and it is pure hubris to believe that we have any of the answers, only more questions. There are many religions far older than christianity (scientifically speaking) that have different creation myths and just as much faith. We are simply too young to know the truth and only in that space between lives, or after this life if you prefer, do we know our part in the universe. Anything created or written by Man is inherently flawed because it is limited in understanding. The universe, and all things, are energy; I think we got that right at least. That energy is all powerful; we are all linked; we are all part of a greater whole. By "we" I mean all things, every planet, every star, every atom. There are more questions than we have the understanding to ask.

I figured with our conversation on Religion from a few months ago, that you would have a good view point. I feel the same way as how you wrote but you say it much better than I could.
