Yes. I wasn’t sure what the grey or yellow wire mod did. Probably missed that boat and went overboard swapping cases and cutting holes in my floor lol

Having replaced my ADD actuator 4 times (under warranty) I completely understand!
edit: especially now that the truck is no longer under warranty! I avoid deep water now and tape up the hole in the ADD as a precaution.

I figure the 10 years I have trouble free is just a matter of time until I have an issue. My luck it will be in the middle of no where. Not overly hard to fix (just slide the fork over and you are good). But doing that out in the field is a pain.

@tacoma16 and fellow CUNTS see the 2LO kit for 2nd Gens. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2lo-kit-for-2nd-gens.554456/page-12#post-22932103
These are the LAST batch @Up2NoGood will be making. I bought one about 2 years ago, have used it 1/2 dozen times and love it. I didn’t know there was a 3rd Gen kit, or that fancy button to cap it off!

I think Grey Wire mod sllows you to use E-locker anytime.

I think Yellow Wire mod allows you to run “faux A-Trac” or traction control while in 4LO.

    I went a different route....

I don’t know how it would work on our tcase though. Would have to go through the shift pattern on the tcase to double check. Based on the fj case you couldn’t have 2wd low without modifying the shift forks.

Good stuff here guys.....I am pretty sure my four-wheel-drive system has minimal electronics… Just the nice green indicator light.

You may have an actuator on the front diff. Not to sure about the 1st gens.

the fjs have a similar shifT pattern. However you can modify them so each shift fork (if there is two) can operate individually.

Your new gearbox build is very interesting...kudos to your skills!

I've been under the front end lately cleaning things up and didn't notice one. Tight in there. I work on this truck all the time but I'm an amateur. I do have ADD and not locking hubs so maybe? Found these stickers under the crud on front diff shaft

so without locking hubs you have a ADD which is a automatic differential disconnect. So it does have a actuator that engages the front diff. Exactly the same as the auto fj cruisers (2007-currentish)

From what you are showing me atleast. Not an expert by any means

I have that switch on my 2017 and haven't found any need for it yet. Where do you use it?

I've seen that video before. That guy is from the GTA. I might have to try it some time just to see if it works. In first gear and 4L you really don't need the clutch much anyways.
