I'd be happy to work from home but so far they haven't asked us to, and it'd be tricky for me to anyway based on what I do. Just hoping this doesn't go on for too long cause I know the owner would rather sell the company than watch it lose money. Plus he's near 70 anyway, but has another kid on the way lol

Yeah, that is a tough spot to be in. Hopefully they come through and make it easier on you. Must be a little extra stressful with the newborn at home too

Yeah especially with my wife's business shut down as well. But luckily I'm still getting paid for the time being but I doubt that goes on for very long... Hope the damn curve flattens soon so we can see a light at the end of this. Or at least give them a reason to let people go back to work

My manager told me that he doesn't expect any layoffs but wasn't making any promises.

I thought you were in S. SF. and I'm stuck in Orinda so...hour drive, less now that there's less traffic. But now I'm giving @Sperrunner dibs unless he's messing with me about doing it for lunch ;-)

Ah you’re in Orinda? I’ve been out of SF for a while now. They just announced School is cancelled until Fall, I’ve actually got to start moving out. I just found out.

Oregon resident but came down for my dad's spinal surgery...and then he had a little stroke during recovery and then this lockdown so...I'll be here at least until he can walk again. Were closer every day

The reason they typically opt for studs in that application and with axle ends is because you get full thread engagement on the hub side no matter what

Today was a damn rollercoaster, thought the governor was gonna put us all in the same boat Cali is in. But thankfully he didn't and we can keep working. My work is as busy as ever and we serve lots of essential businesses so if the state shuts down I'd sure hope we get labeled as essential.

Kind of wish I had symptoms right now. Was just informed that I am "essential" and have to start pulling double shifts (no more pay either, salaried). We normally have 1500 people on site each day and have been told that we have to keep the same pace with just 50. Gonna be a painful few weeks/months...

They're pretty flexible with the term 'essential' at least here... Auto repair, auto parts stores, hardware stores, and the like are still allowed to operate. I'm sure you guys would too especially given your description of it.

My friend with the flooded FJ works as a welder for a contracting company and they're still working too

I'm glad the auto parts/hardware stores are open so I can at least grab stuff to work on my truck during this down time I suddenly find myself having
