I just finally finished my tacoma the way i always wanted it, with the wheels, lift etc.... finally got the truxedo bed cover i always wanted and now I came to the conclusion i need a bigger truck. I am getting a 4 car trailer, and need to haul race cars to and from the track. The tacoma always did great with one car. But now i will be towing about 20,000lbs. 3 days ago I bought an 08 F450, it will get the job done. Comparing it to the Tacoma makes the taco feel like a sports car! i never realized how amazing they drive till now. Anyway, I will really miss this truck, I think it was one of my favorite vehicles i have owned, never had an issue with it either. Here is an ebay auction to my truck for sale that i just listed...Thank you all for the help an DIY's! I sure did learn a lot here.

Wow beautiful truck, sorry you have to let her go!

Spending so much time at the track should help ease the pain though...

I'm going camping in my Taco at Virginia International Raceway at the end of this month to watch the SCCA endurance race. Nothing relaxes like time at the track!

Good luck with the F-450, that's a hellova lot of truck!

YOU WILL BE MISSED Satoshi Grill, FX-R retros, husky liners, bed bolt d-rings, TRD short throw shifter, 2.5 Fox Coil overs, AP UCA's, AP Expo rear leaf with Fox 2.0 shocks, Extended SS brake lines, AP kick-out sliders, 265/75/16 on Konig Countersteers, AllPro Apex front bumper and Zip Ties.
That is a really sharp tacoma you are selling, very nice!

My father has an F-450 and they are supernice and VERY capable! Your right about the race car comparison, I made a shift from an F250 full size to my tacoma and it is quite a difference.

For me, I don't do as much towing so it was the reverse of your move. GLWS.

Sorry but american made trucks are crap. I drove Dodge 2500 with the Cummins diesel from Phoenix to Colorado and back... I absolutely hated that truck, numb steering feel, uncomfortable seats, ugly interior and the truck was 2007! the only good thing about the truck was that it had no problems towing about 8000lbs, I did 80mph on the freeway towing 8000lbs without issues...lol

The only and only way I would buy american made truck is if I need to tow heavy loads on daily basis.

To the OP; GLWS man, good looking Taco you got there!

Sorry, but you're wrong. I've had two Ford F-series (1990 F-150 and 2000 F-250), and they were as solid trucks as my Tacoma is. And the new domestic trucks are getting all kinds of praise. That's a pretty bold blanket statement you made, and I'm not sure it's at all valid.

OP, good luck with the new rig, sounds like you made a wise and appropriate decision. And yes, pics of the F-450! :)

It is a personal opinion. Sorry but if the interior of my base Taco has better fit & finish and looks better than on the same year Dodge 2500 4x4 with Cummins that makes me wonder... Hell I bet the Dodge was around $40k new!

My worst complaint was the steering. It was horrible in every aspect! I could make half a turn right then half a turn left and I was still going straight

How much are you looking to get for the truck shipped to Northern California. Is it paid off?

Thanks guys. I am looking to sell the truck for low to mid 20's. But we will the type of interest it gets. I just want it to honestly go to a good home. I feel bad taking such good care about it, and then seeing all my hard work go to waste.

There is a lein on it, but my friend works at a Toyota dealer and he was going to do all the paper work so technically its a safe transaction since it would be like buying it from a Toyota dealer. I'd like to see 25k for the truck, but i may take less for a quick sale.

I don't want to thread hijack any more than necessary, but you're right, it is an opinion. We are all entitled to that.

You would never catch me in a Dodge, so I agree with you there. Every one I've been in was crap. And we both bought Tacomas, so obviously I'm a proponent of Toyota quality. :) I'm just stating that I've had excellent luck with Ford and would not hesitate to buy again.
