$1700 is a steep price. Be patient, or shop for some aftermarket coil overs for that price.

You do know that’s installed upside down don’t you?

Why would it be upside down? Looks correct to me

You've probably been ripped off then. Honestly looks like all he did was chop that shock tower to fit the shock in there. Rear leaf pack looks stock

The limiteds run a shorter height and smaller tires from factory, if memory serves me. It’s on par with the SR/SR5, they run 235 something. So yes, I believe he could have got 2.75” of lift over stock with the new coilover/tire setup. He would not have gotten that much if he had a TRD model and added this kit though.

And the shocks are not upside down. Maybe opposite of what their position is on a 4R but they’ll work just fine in that position too.

    Setup looks great OP

    I had a 16 SR5 and an 18 TRD OR, the SR5 had much smaller tires. 29”

Simply look how they are installed from the factory. But the plastic boot that’s supposed to protect the shock from dirt & shit is now acting like a cup to collect it all should have been a give away.

This is how they're installed from the factory on a 4runner. I can understand why you'd think this is incorrect, it is the opposite of how the Tacoma rear shock usually mounts. But that boot has cutouts in the bottom to allow for debris to escape.

I’m about to do the same with my tacoma, the fronts went in with no issue

now I’m on the the rears, waiting for the bushings to come in. Hopefully it all works out. And they fit up.

BUMP... very interested on fitment from what I've read seems just rear bushing needs to be changed out... I have an opportunity to buy a set off of a 2020 Pro 4Runner... BUT I'm putting it on my 2015 Pro Tacoma...

Buuummp. Also interested. Just purchased a set of trd pro suspension off a 2020 4runner trd pro. The front coilovers bolt right up just fine. The rear shocks need that bushing. Curious as to how it worked out

    Reviving an old thread,

got a set of Trd pro from 4R…

front: everything seems okay, the bottom shock bushing sleeve needs to be trimmed a little to fit into the bracket on LcA.

rear: for those of you thst don’t want to swap out bushings you can enlarge the mounting bracket for the lower shock bushing. Use bigger bolts. Don’t use stock bolts as it leaves too much movement between the sleeve. It probably will break the bolt eventually. Also you have to trim down the sleeve as well.

Hello all, I have a similar question about 4runner coilovers on a tacoma. I've got The whole suspension off my 2019 TRD Off Road Premium that has like 200 miles on it. I changed over to the Bilstein 5100's and Dobson Springs and have been happy so far. I ordered a 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 DCLB and all I want to do for now is level out the front. I have no problem buying 5100's and changing my oem springs over to them to achieve this goal but I'm wondering if removing the OE Tacoma coilovers and install my OE 4runner coilover will achieve this same thing? My reasoning that it might work is because A: They will bolt right up. B: the 4runner comes with a larger engine and should have slightly more weight to compensate for? Obviously I'm just looking for that 1.5-2.0 in increase and would hate to do the exchange and be at the same height or worse lower and have to do the job again by ordering and changing out to the bilsteins. Has anyone done something similar or have any factory specs on the two sets of coilovers? I do believe that the strut itself has the same capacity because the Monroe catalog shows the same part number for both applications. I'm guessing all the difference is going to be in the spring height and rate (if any). Again this is just me thinking out loud and if anyone can confirm or deny that it will or won't be what I'm trying to achieve before tearing it apart I welcome any and all input. Thanks...Mark
