Good morning all. Oil change day for the truck. Yesterday, the governor ordered all nonessential business to close. I make medical devices so we’re considered essential. Tomorrow I have to take the kid to clear out her dorm room. If I only I could get a hazmat suit!

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

Sun is shining and coffee is made

At work we got more details on this 3 week shut down. The company is taking care of filing for unemployment for us. They are adding an extra 24 hours of pay to our next check. They are taking care of our payroll deductions for all insurances. I am very surprised at all of this.

Do y'all age in barrels or add oak to the tanks?

They said the other day there was 1 reported case here. Somebody that works here but lives the next county over. Last night they said we have our first actual residential cases, a couple in their 70's. Tey figured it out pretty quick and self isolated.

Both, some wines are aged in the barrells but if we run low we will add oak to tanks it adds the same flavor in a fraction of the time. I prefer the wine actually aged in the barrells. I have about 50 barrells treated and ready to go.

We're taking a crack at adding oak to our fist batch here at the house. Anxious to see how it turns out.

I went that route with my last batch of beer. Medium toast oak cubes soaked in bourbon. Oak adds some interesting flavors to beer.

we use a tincture for our Stout that as oak chips, dark rum, and lactose among other things. It starts soaking when the beer is brewed then the fluid is added post fermintation before cold crashing.

So if you can't bottle when it's ready, if you close, will it continue to age, or will it be ruined?

    Good morning.
Got the garage mostly done yesterday. Going to work on the old truck today. My neighbor got most of the rotten gas out and got it running. I'm going to pull some plugs and see what's happening then probably get the rest of that bad gas out. I though I had a siphon pump but haven't seen it in a while.
