I'm looking into getting a 3 inch lift, and my options are a block or aal. I really don't know what to get. I haul trailers a lot and my 500lb snowmobile in the back of my truck. What would best compensate for the weight? I'm looking into getting this kit http://www.roughcountry.co/toyota_4wd_tacoma_3.html
Should I just go with this, then an airbag setup? I need ideas. I'm new to all this, and I'm hoping to keep the cost down a bit, I dont have a ton of money.

Blocks and AAL are totally inappropriate for your needs, although you would have really sweet reverse-arched springs. You need springs that are designed for carrying weight, blocks and most AAL's are not designed with this in mind.

I'd go with a Dakar pack as mentioned if you can afford it. Otherwise definitely go with a Wheeler's offroad AAL as a second choice. I haul all kinds of stuff and their AAL seems to hold the load great. (I actually bought an aal for a Tundra from them for extra capacity)

It's not so much that you can now carry more than the rated weight, it's that when you carry the full rated weight, the truck does it much better.

Cheap does not equate to comfortable ride and/or safety.

No- nothing can make it safe for you to carry more than stock because that wegith rating isn't based solely on the springs. Engine, transmission, axle, wheels, frame all play a part in it. You would need to rebuild all those parts (ie-get a full size truck) to carry more weight.

I think the OP would be fine with an AAL...but the Dakar pack is the way to go really.
