I have no experience with soft vests but I took a look at these. You get your level IIIa+ and can attach all the pouches you want.
    https://safelifedefense.com/product/tactical-enhanced-multi-threat-vest-level-iiia/

I have a couple carriers with level IV(heavy) and level III+(much lighter) plates. My next carrier might be a Spiritus.
Chest rig isn't a bad idea. Light and fast.

I'm just a John Wick LARPer though.

I have BP-51s on my Tacoma and yes the fronts have been warrantied twice. Once for seized lower bearings and soon after both of them started leaking at the shafts. I'll never buy or recommend them again.

What type of off-roading do you do? I ask because I have a GX as well and opted for a less advanced setup using Dobinsons springs and twin tube shocks. I've only taken it on two sections of the wabdr and it performed well for that type of off-roading. I don't think I will spend my money on such expensive setups anymore. If anything I may upgrade to the Dobinsons IMS shocks that feature larger diameter shocks with the fronts being threaded for height adjustment. They also have the MRR (remote reservior) and MRA (remote reservoir + adjustable dampening) if you fancy those.

I found out who ever wired my house, labeled the main breaker panel incorrectly. By quite a bit. While replacing a bad outlet that I assumed was off based upon it's location and the label on the breaker I switched off, my beard stood on end for a second and I may have pee'd myself. :anonymous:

After that I went and bought one of the Klein tester kits and went through the whole house breaker by breaker and found a handful that weren't of the run one would associate them to based on the labels in the panel. I've corrected the labeling to include the randoms...

I've worked on 3 phase 480 when we had our old crushing plant, completely tearing conveyors down moving location and rewiring but thankfully I've been lucky enough and probably mostly through training like LOTO to still be alive. A few of the conveyors rotated in reverse rather than forward, but a quick switch of the leg wires fixed that. That's definitely no joke compared to residential 110.

440V aint no joke, nor is 220V.

We allegedly used to use a megger (hand held resistance tester, hand cranked for 500v and push button circuit) on the rickey recruits (E-1s),
I would hold both leads and my bud would crank it but not press the button.
Recruit would do it but button might have accidentally got pressed; opps.
Nobody peed themselves... at least that they would admit to...

Must've been the same guy that did the panel in my house. It seems like whoever labeled it was sent out there with a sheet of labels and just stuck them on there in the order they pulled them off the sheet. Went to do some work on my furnace and after the one labeled for it didn't shut it off I found the refrigerator breaker did the trick. One of these days I just need to say good bye to my clocks for a bit and just go around the house flipping breakers and relabel everything because nothing matches other than the couple I have already fixed.

Doing aircraft electrical makes for some fun experiences with getting zapped and lots of stories where things could've easily been way worse than they were. 115VAC feels real funny at 400hz compared to 60hz too. When I worked on the 787 we had some HVDC systems that ran large motors using +/-270VDC for a potential of 540VDC.

Same here but if the economy tanks, people might get desperate. I want to have the best chances possible. It really makes me want a canopy camper or Khaya from Alucab. If got bad enough i could leave for 2-3 weeks and let stuff settle down

You're looking for a plate carrier. Everyone makes them. People have even been wearing them in the CrossFit games, 5.11 brand. Same shit but they load them with weight plates instead of ballistic plates.

Doubt you'll find many places to try them on now but after this passes there's tactical tailor outside of jblm

    https://www.tacticaltailor.com/fightlightplatecarrier.aspx

I haven't tried that specific carrier but as I said earlier TT was making nylon gear for dudes in the gwot while most other companies werent yet around. They've kind of failed to innovate since then but they can make a plate carrier with molle just fine. first spear strandhogg is my go to with soft armor and plates in the cummerbund but it's $$$

i really get it. im curious about the reason for bed bar height for this hobby. i have a saddle jobox but would want the lowest, high quality mounting system.

i build my bed racks so my tent sits just below my snorkel (highest point). Ideally I’d like it higher for easier access to the bed but I’d rather not pop a hole in my tent cover or tent itself
