It definitely hits when flexed. I have to raise the motor some more.

Picture from today. Going to another local fab guy to use his die as I only have a 1.66 die. Once I get that done and the other hoop bent then I’ll be burning it all in

Don’t mind the wing nut Hardware store was closed already and I only had them to keep things tight for tacking.

Subbed for sure, my next build will most likely be a linked 4runner!

Yea for sure. I love my tacoma, but its approaching the end of it's useful life (damn rusty frames!) And a "new" 1st gen is too damn expensive. The 3rd and 4th gen 4runners are right in the price range for a nice wheeler that you can drive to and from the trail and not blow the bank. Probibly in 1 or 2 more wheeling seasons I'm going to start looking for one.

Well a bigger step to being on its own weight. Everything in the front clears now after lifting the motor 5/8” shocks are at 5-6” showing before the rubber bump that’s on them. At full drop in the picture I still had 1.5” to go but ran out of room due to the floor. Right now this will be ride height and the frame height is 24”

Shock hoops, axle brackets, panhard mount, and a hoop cross brace bent and mocked up today. Need to weld the tube bungs and frame brackets up then it’s on its own weight. Then to make a transmission crossmember/skid and do the exhaust.

Pulled the frame brackets off and welded them up.

Need to figure out where to mount the battery and run the wires, run brake lines, mount fuel tank, and make the steering shaft.

It’s on all fours again. No preload on the springs and it’s at 5” of down travel. Wheel base is 110.5”. And frame height currently with 33s is 23”

made a battery box mounted off the shock hoop and moved it up some Incase I had to trim out the wheel well.

    things left to do
    trans skid and mount
    shocks in the rear
    Plumb all the brake lines
Run all the hydro assist lines and cooler
    Driveshafts
    Exhaust
    Mount gas tank.

    This shit box Done yet

Crossmember/ pan protection is done and painted.

    Things left:
    *plate for steering shaft/firewall
    *Drive shafts extend
    *Brake lines ran
    *Gas tank mounted
    *Rear shocks
*Hook up hydro assist hoses and run the cooler
    *Mount winch
*Figure out resi mounts as the battery location made that a very tight fit for previous location
    *run exhaust

Not a bunch of big stuff but enough to kill a few days.
