My initial reaction was to suggest getting a wood stove. OP did you solve your issue?

Yes the heater core temp was checked at the inlet and outlet . Also heater core was flushed. New head gaskets install heads were vacuum tested.

Originally the problem was happening with the heater cooling down and when I was stopped .soon as I increased rpm I had heat out of my heater temperature gauge did not climb above 12 o’clock which was its normal position at all times since I bought the truck new. had that issue for a couple weeks then the next time I drove it the heater was still doing the same thing hot and cold but my temperature gauge climbed above 12 o’clock and went almost into the hot so my thinking is that I have a cracked block sucking air into the systemCausing an air pocket in the heater core now the crack is gotten bigger so now I’m getting air pockets in the water ports which is causing overheating because of the air pocket inside the engine or head.

Or ---- Missing thermostat - not installed after removal? Left over crap in the cooling system after teardown stuck in the thermostat (stuck open)?

The way I understand this ... there are two fluid loops - one for the heater core and engine and one that will open to the radiator. The thermostat has two functions, one to open to allow the cooler radiator water enter the HC and engine loop to keep the engine from getting too hot. The other is to close to KEEP the engine from getting too cold. This allows the engine at a consistent temp after initial warm up. If the engine is too cold - and this includes the HC as it is in the same loop - the thermostat should close and heat up the engine / HC.

Sometimes there is also a valve in the heater core line from the engine to shut off water when "cool or AC" is selected inside the cab - to help with shutting down the HC and let the AC work at Max efficiency . The valve or its control (Vac line?) may be stuck open also/or. .... the HVAC contols in the dash - vac motors/lines /valves are not telling the water shut off valve in the heater core supply line loop to open ...

Well they change the thermostat they also installed a new water pump took the heads off both head gaskets showed no signs of any leaking put everything back together including new head gaskets and still have the same problem air getting into the coolant

My windows fogging on the inside due to no heat is because I have to breath when driving. This puts out moisture. ever notice on a cold day that you can "see your breath"? That is water vapor.

You may want corporate to stick an engineer on this one

The engineers have been working on it for I would say two weeks I’m hoping they just give me a new truck and I’ll give him some cash

As a dual certified backseat driver and armchair technician, it seems like this should be a really simple solution..

What I meant by that, was I wonder if they missed something simple before they started tearing the engine apart

Well if they miss something small it’s too late because they’ve already put a new thermostat in already put a new water pump and already took the heads off sent the heads away they were all good put it back together still have the same issue oh and they did do a blue test On the coolant

I love swapnostics! Always worth while and great for chasing your tail. First thing is ignore the dash temperature gauge. It has no scale so it is irrelevant. Install a mechanical gauge that has a scale. Verify the temperature and correct thermostat operation. Then verify the heater core is getting that same temperature. Then operate the HVAC system in the same way that the problem shows up. Watch the engine temp and core temp to see if the temp drops and where it drops. If you find that the engine doesn't drop put the core does, look for a blockage or restriction. Once the coolant portion of the system is isolated and diagnosed and if it has no faults, move on to the control side of the system. One piece at a time.

With all the swapping of parts it's possible the original problem was solved but a new one created.

I hope they get your truck fixed, or offer a buy back, but they're not going to just give you a new truck.
