Do you guys think this is a horrible time to buy a new truck? With this whole pandemic going on? I got good credit and a fat down available. My job seems good for now. Any opinions ?

Wait a couple weeks and hammer them for a deal when they start starving out.

Opportunities galore to buy low and sell high and will probably get better next month.

Low interest and coming up on the end of the month. Tell them what you will pay for your Taco, and walk when they try to dick around. Bet you find what you want.

Not sure where you are located BUT I think you can probably swing a better deal in a week or more.

As long as employment is secured

Machinist . Job has a military contract .. so we’re working through the shutdown.. I always just weigh worst case scenarios very heavily when making big decision . I was planning on buying a truck in April and now all this has popped off.

Why not wait until April as per your plan? Things will be more clear. The next two weeks will inform us of what is going to happen in North America with Coronavirus. If it’s gonna hockey-stick, and kill off a generation, and the weak and infirm, that shitshow starts Monday.

What will be clear by then is the trend due to general denial, and allowing “girls gone wild” to still happen everywhere over Spring Break.

I’m looking at making a good purchase pretty soon (Employment is pretty solid).
I’m going to give it another week or two.

BUT I’m not you, do what’s best for you and your situation. But stay safe

Some dealerships are closing their showrooms. They will be making deals like crazy when they reopen.

I thought my job was secure (working in food service/trucking) since everyone has to eat and we were booming during 2008 recession but they have us on "modified layoffs" so nothing is for sure.

I don't mean to scare you but if you have a years worth of savings after your down then go for it otherwise I would hold off unless you get a crazy insane deal where you can sell it at minimal loss or break even if you have to (new Tacoma's do not hold a great resell contrary to popular belief since market saturation)

I’d think April incentives after dealerships not selling any cars for 4 weeks will be good, they would be ready to move some vehicles I would bet.

As long as your job is secure, it's probably the best time ever to buy a new car. Domestic manufacturers are offering some incredible finance deals (0% for 84 months), and you can be sure Toyota is going to step up soon. Dealerships are seeing sales fall off a cliff, so they'll be willing to wheel and deal.

    It's a buyers paradise.
