Thanks all. He was ready and lived a good life, but I will miss the little guy.

I so appreciate your words “he was ready”, it is so hard to to make the decision and you chose a quality of life decision in favor of the little guy. Peace be with you.

Finally was able to pick out our new pup yesterday.
Get to bring Skye home on April 10.
Lucky the wife gets to name this 1 on account I would have named him Covid.

 

This is Taylor aka “Pooch”
He’s ~9yrs old
In 2018 he had a 14lb tumor removed from his midsection and a drain put in place. After a few months we noticed it started growing back again. Faster and larger.
We brought him back to the vet and the doctor said there was nothing they can do. The tumor was pressing up against nearly all of his major organs as the surgery would have only a 1-2% chance of survival. He said that Taylor likely wouldn’t make it past Christmas 2018.

THANKFULLY he’s still with us today! (although this is an older photo of him Summer 2019 after getting out of the pool!)

He shows no signs of pain (we are aware that Goldens usually don’t show their pain all that often unless it’s really severe)
But he still runs, swims, and plays with all his toys like a puppy!
