Yesterday the light caught my tires just right, and I noticed this strange tire wear, I don't know **** about diagnosing tire wear, so can anyone help me? It's both front tires, left worse than right, kind of dished in the white circled area on the center lugs. Not sure if you can make it out from the picture, but the green line kind of shows the profile of the wear pattern.IMG_20200321_120327.jpg IMG_20200321_120400.jpg

How are the upper/lower ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, and steering rack bushings? Any noticeable vibrations or shimmies before you noticed the uneven wear?

Cheap tires tend to wear like crap.

I'll check all that today. Truck drives great, no shakes or anything, aside from a shudder on takeoff (carrier bearing is shot, and ordered). I'll check the rest of those components today when I rotate the tires.

I had the same takeoff vibration with my old tires. They were wearing the same way as yours are. I replaced carrier bearing and u joints trying to get rid of the vibe. Found out later it was from the tire wear. Try rotating the worn tires to the back and see if your vibration goes away or changes

The tire wear you have is referred to as cupping or scalping. Obviously check all steering and suspension components for looseness and wear. You can check the alignment but your wasting your time if doing it with worn tires. The truck won't sit true on the alignment machine with worn uneven tire tread. Tire balance can contribute to this type of wear even if there is no vibration. The tires are absorbing the vibration but wearing unnoticeably. Also cross rotate your tires every 6000 miles. Aline after any issues are resolved and new rubber installed. Hope this helps.

These tires are under a year old, and they've been rotated twice since I bought the tires and installed the lift last july. Maybe it's just the tires. If so, I'll just run them and rotate often until they're worn enough to replace.

I'm running 30 now. You don't think 25 seems too low? I tried the chalk test, but didn't really get obvious results from it.

I'm going with cupping and over inflation worn in center.

30 is low enough. Stay away from the "knobby square" tread patterns next time. My OEM Goodyears only lasted 15k mile. Not surprising. Glad to get rid of them. I wouldn't put a goodyear on my wheel barrow. I went with Toyo Open Country A/T 2. Nice tire.

for the price, I'd be fine with 15k-20k really. Sounds like I'm just going to keep them rotated and as long as the suspension components are good, ride it out. They ride nice, they're quiet and they do really well off-road. I'd buy them again, but next time I'd like to try a hybrid, just out of curiosity.

How many miles on the new setup? Wear can be attributed to the replaced components.
I had similar cupping and it was worn lower control arm bushings. But, as has been noted, can be bad shocks, wheel bearing, etc...

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
Definitely cupping. Bad tie rods/ball joints/needs alignment. Could be shitty tires contributing also. You have rotated twice but at what mileage?

When I've seen tires wear like that it was bad shocks. And 30 PSI isn't enough air for those tires, closer to 40 PSI. That may not fix the issue, but won't hurt. Tires with more aggressive tread wear faster and need to be rotated much more often, 3000-5000 miles max.
