The higher the number the better to a certain extent. That means we’re actually testing people finally. Our population is much larger than a lot of the other countries listed. There is a graph somewhere that has Italy’s cases vs US cases by day that is corrected for population I’ll try to find it.

You also need to look at that by infection per million people and subtract the closed cases. Just looking at straight up infection counts does nothing but whip people into an anxiety fueled frenzy.

Yeah I was lucky to have rebuilt the 80 series front and rear axles a couple times so I had an idea on the whole 'feel' aspect of it that old timers always say they do things by.
My 80 series was a secondary/fun vehicle so it was okay to sit on jackstands while I tested a few ways of setting preload. The fish scale worked fine. And then I remember reading on Mud that someone actually figured out the torque specs(close enough at least) with using a torque wrench. I'll have to go back and search for it. But you know how it was like preload take the torque to 50 lbs or whatever it was and then for setting the final nut, instead of the fish scale just 'torque wrench' it to like 12 lbs. I think it was 12 lbs. And it felt good after turning the hub and 'feeling' it after setting it. But that's how I did the 100 series fronts this last time and it worked great. Once you know you're good or close enough on the preload, After a few hundred miles and maybe a freeway drive, I did the feel the temp of the hubs with my fingertips to make sure not too hot and then push and pull the wheel at 12 o'clock position with the vehicle weight on it still, to feel for looseness in the bearing preload.
This worked well for last couple 80s and 100s I've done front bearings on.
The fish scale stays in the tackle bag now as I await my 30 lb record breaking catfish this summer:D:rofl:

But.... But... But, we can't get everyone to buy into a nationwide lock down unless we report the numbers in a way that is deceiving and intended to get everyone riled up!

Most frustrating part about all this, even before it got here. Evreyone was focused on total cases and not open ones, which up until recently was less than half the reported number.

I deal with workplace safety stats at work and its the same thing and makes me want to rip my hair out. Bosses "Jesus christ we had 900 injuries". me: yes it's a company of 90,000 people who worked 225million+ hours, that's actually below the national average and we were doing better than the other company with 400 injuries and only 40,000 employees. Bosses "Yea but still, you guys aren't doing you job".:frusty:

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
Thanks for the confirmation. This reminds me of when I was 12 years old and learning how to set wheel bearing pre-load on a wheel like this. It was done by feel and retrying again after a few miles. Hot rod brakes before disks became available.

I have not turned on my PC in awhile much less, ran Steam since last year.

Had to update Steam, download the latest drivers for my video card, and update some games (downloading now).

    Anyway want to multiplayer something?

I mean I get that they aren't paid to know parts and details for every vehicle out there but there are some simple basics that anyone working a parts store counter should know lol
