    Haha, I hated reading in school and learned to appreciate it later.

    Ironically, the book is about the fragility of civilization, order and discipline and the balance between that and anarchy, disarray and savagery. It aligns in some ways with the philosopher Thomas Hobbes' book Leviathan in which he describes early man as savages and that any community that attempted to provide any level of order or discipline would find itself in civil war over competing ideals, the book goes on into further ideas but I found that curious.

    We can see even now how that fragility is being slightly tested.

    I have no idea how a high schooler would even understand that.

    That sounds dead on with what I remember, and definitely did not resonate with high school me. I think it takes real life experience outside of school to see how this takes shape.

    We shall see how this plays out. Economics is one of the most powerful forces we've ever created and that whole system is not geared for what we are in the middle of.
