Wanted to start a thread for growing number of 3rd Gens with 100k miles.
The goal of this thread is to try and ease people's mind about reliability and quality concerns.
Post pics of your trucks, discuss issues you have had, parts that needed replacement, or your maintenance routines.
I would like to try and avoid discussing recalls if possible. It's just a part of buying newer vehicles in this day and age and it's something that plagues all makes and models. Most have fixes, and there are plenty of other threads discussing them.

Here is my 2016 Sport DCSB 4x4 Automatic with the 3.5 V6. First 50k maintenance was done at the dealer, the rest by me following the Toyota maintenance schedule.
    Current.jpg
I commute 80 miles a day, tow a 3klb camper regularly, and off road on occasion. Truck keeps purring along. I think I had to replace a fuse around 50k for the dome light. replaced stock tires at 60k. Suspension is stock (and still good!). Most "mods" have been small functional ones or purely cosmetic.

Looking forward to joining the 200k club!

2018 with 50k so far, so I’ll be there soonish. Any major problems so far?

doing about 30-40k a year at the moment and no repairs, only maintenance and upgrades.

I think i have posted in all 3 of those, lol. Or at least read them. Those threads have been over run by people bitching about their trucks that have no where near 100k on them. I was hoping to start a thread that didn't follow the same path.

100k?...this isn’t 1983, yet people walk amongst us still clinging to the 100k standard. I have 2 vehicles currently sitting in my driveway with 100k plus and 1 with almost 85k, all of them still going strong.

Yeah, reliability went up but seems to have dipped pretty bad with some manufactures so 100k being a good reference point may be coming back again.

I went the opposite direction, shaved off my whole beard because I couldn't stop touching it constantly. Never realized how much I touch my face until now...

2016 SR5 131,000 when traded in 12.17.19, truck ran great with no major issues. I Bought with 5 miles on it and drove the piss out of it. I performed the following maint during my ownership:

    Changed the oil 12 times
    Changed spark plugs once
    Changed diff/T-case fluids 2x
    Trans flush and fill once

    Only issues i had:
Timing cover oil leak (Never Fixed)
Rear main seal leak (Never Fixed)
RR wheel bearing (Fixed at 120K)
Rear end grinding and vibes (reason for trade in) (Never Fixed)

What mileage did you do the diff/t case fluids?
That sucks about the timing cover and rear main seal. I checked mine a few days ago, still dry fortunately! What mileage did those issues pop up?
Did you ever get the rear end grinding diagnosed? I wonder if this something I need to be looking out for.

I did the diffs and transfer case at 90K, did the trans flush and fill at 99K due to surging when under load and TC locked up. The fluid was just past its prime, ran as new after that service. I did the spark plugs at 112K, i never got the rear end noise checked out because i was anxious about what the bill would be. I suspect a bearing was toast, it happened after my trip to Moab and CO. The truck was also super heavy, at least 900-1000 lbs over stock weight in the rear alone.

Luckily I've been doing drain and fills for regular maint on the tranny for awhile now since I tow a lot.
Thanks for the info. I appreciate the post. I also like spending time off road in Moab and CO, although I tow the camper there and am relatively light when hit the trails. Still, this is good info and stuff I need to keep an eye on.

I thinking the same thing...isn't it natural that we expect at the very least 500.000 miles?!...chevys, ford and dodges get that now...

Easy there. The guy is entitled to his opinion. He said his bit, and has now left. We can leave it at that.
