Who exactly is this directed at? Also why would you be more credible then others who have a well established reputation here?

I've put blue circles around who it's directed at:

    upload_2020-3-22_15-7-50.jpg

It's clearly not directed at OP, who uses a spectroradiometer, which completely sidesteps the issue of incorrectly/inaccurately tuned lux meters, as well as lux meters that are specifically tuned for the SPDs of LEDs. This is only directed at people who go out of their way to choose the world's most inaccurate lux meter so they can inflate the numbers of their LED bulbs (Headlight Revolution, TRS, etc.)

I wasn't aware that Headlight Revolution is a random dude on YouTube

    https://www.youtube.com/user/HeadlightRevolution

I just found the graphic interesting and it really goes to show that all their claims (below) need to be cut by 40% if not more.

Sorry, I don’t follow any headlight influencers. All your circle showed was an “HR.”

Got it. So no change, I’ll still stick to @crashnburn80 recommendations, supported by TW user experiences.

Good idea, since he's not going out of his way to source inaccurate lux meters. Quite the opposite, actually; he paid extra for a NIST-certified lux meter and a spectroradiometer.

    Speaking of weasels . . .

Did you know that young weasels could fly?

    Here's one riding a woodpecker.

I think he's planning on inviting the woodpecker to dinner. :)

See junior? I told you we'd catch a woodpecker this way.

Junior! Where are you going with our dinner?

    No

The hakari $1200 sealed LED enclosures are the best LED over stock, and the only one so far better than halogen upgrades.

Any LED you plug into the stock h11 projectors is going to suck because the projector is tuned for a halogen bulb.

On page one hikari was said to out perform the stock bulb and Morimoto 2.0 led bulbs as well were the second? So what’s everyone running to get a 6000k color and still perform good without spending a $1000?

That's because they are not designed for our projectors. If you understand how a maglite works when you adjust the head to control the focus, you are adjusting the distance between the light source and the reflector.

This is tuned for the bulb in a headlight, with LEDs engineers try their best to match that distance but have not engineered an LED that can output light multi-directionaly like incandescence. The other factor at play is the thickness of the LED light source being much wider than an incandescence filament which also throws off the tuning of the projector.

LED's in halogen headlights are always going to be terrible, there's no way around it until they engineer a different type of LED.

Hikari Ultras perform better than stock. Just not as good as a performance halogen.

I can't speak for all of the other everyones, but THIS everyone is using H9 bulbs, and doesn't WANT 6000k headlights.
