Ream the existing hole large enough to insert one of these and new screw. It's work for me on several bumpers.

New bumper. Just kidding but all you need is a wider screw. This happened to my friend that owns a 2nd gen taco. I told him to get a drill and make the hole round and smooth again and get a fatter screw.

I put my plates on today and the screws that came with the plate holder were too small. Had to use the screws the dealer used for the temporary plates.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Our trucks come with plastic bumpers made from materials suitable only for a little girls doll house. As soon as you can, bust out the grinder chop that bumper off and install a full front bumper. While the saw is still out cut your rear fenders and install a high clearance rear bumper. After this you will be able to use your truck more so as a truck instead of a mini van.

I’m not concerned about the rear bumper but I might do something about the front.
Everything seems so flimsy up front.

Once you realize the bulk of the rear bumper is eggshell plastic and after you drag the hitch across everything on the trail you will see what I’m saying .

Front plate? Put that shit under the rear seat. I drove for 20 years without a front plate when i lived in cali. Pulled over for speeding a few times. Not one time did any cop even mention the front plate.

Move to a state that doesn't require a front plate?

Personally I say use a 3 1/2” drywall screw. Report back with findings

Just throw in a bolt from the backside and put a nut on the front? Maybe a washer or two?
