Quiet in here, y’all must be out riding.

Random questions from a new rider....

Is there a max number of days the girl should sit on the tender??

Also, what say y’all about forward controls?? In terms of the control, is it drastically different from mids?? Like, would I basically be starting to learn to ride all over again?

Was nice this mornin but shite weather now for the next few days.

Battery charger: shouldn’t really matter too much, prolly don’t wanna do it for weeks on end though. You really probably don’t even need to plug in if you ride at least once a week.

forward controls: your feet are just further forward. Doesn’t really change the riding too much. I’ve heard you can’t handle it as aggressively but you’re probably not riding it that hard for it to matter (FWIW I don’t either and probably never will)

I’m just a hair taller, but I keep feeling like I might be more comfortable. Right now I just feel like my knees are tucked up under my chin.

I leave mine on tenders all winter. It wont cause any issues. But once its warm (above freezing) its not something needed.

I was out riding :bikewheelie2: I’m guessing WA is going to get put on lockdown any day now, so getting out while I can.

Leaving it on a tender shouldn’t hurt it as long as it’s a semi-smart one. Most monitor and float the battery rather than constantly trying to pump more electricity in. Like others have said though, if you’re riding once a week for half an hour or so you should be fine with it off a charger until winter.

Forwards were the first mod i did on the Nightster. When i turned, the bars would hit my knees. I cant imagine going back. My 48 is a cruiser anyways. Yea i shift high, but i don't think ive ever scraped a peg

You’re going to find the forward controls to be a lot more comfortable on the sporty. I’m 6’1” and didn’t loose a lot of handling ability on my sporty with forwards. I was still able to lift my butt off the seat quickly when hitting an obstacle/speed bump. I’d recommend them for your situation.

On the Softail, i like the mid controls but it’s a bigger bike and even though I’m not stretched out, I’m still in a comfortable/neutral position and don’t see a need to swap to forwards. Word is the new softails come with mid controls that sit slightly more forward than usual though.

I’ve been loving the stock controls on our bike. I haven’t felt cramped at all. I definitely still want to get a crash bar to stretch out on though when I start taking it on longer rides though. But for what I’ve been doin now they’ve been great

The bung king crash bar is pretty cool. Although every time I look at something like that I can’t help but think that I can make it for a lot less. Haha.

Thanks! I was getting my Tacoma's bumper painted (Voodoo Blue) and I got them to shoot the fairings while they were at it.

I was out riding yesterday and had a nasty encounter with an angry guy in a giant Dodge Ram. I was cruising through a neighborhood and noticed him in my mirrors, a little closer than he should have been.
We got to a traffic light and I put my right signal on and then proceeded to adjust the choke.
He apparently got upset because I wasn’t going right on red (very limited visibility of oncoming traffic, didn’t want to risk it). He started honking at me.

He wasn’t using his signal at all so I had no idea what his intentions were. He then turned his wheels to the left and began creeping forward, and I realized that he was actually trying to go around me. I’m still a new rider so this made me really nervous... I mean, me and my bike are less than 500 lbs total and this guy is in a beefed up Ram.

Anyway, the light turns green and I go, and he follows me (still no signal). At the next opportunity, I signal and pull onto the shoulder so he can go around me safely. He does, and of course he floors it like a freaking 16 year old.

Scary shit... I guess I should be prepared for people like that.

People suck. Unfortunately you have to be prepared for everything, mainly stupid drivers. You did the right thing.
