I ended up with an Epson 2150, like it quite a bit, and apparently the bulbs are pretty cheap ($50?) I run it in eco mode all the time so it should last for a good looong while.

Pretty easy setup? I'm thinking about moving my tv and then I'd have the perfect recess for it

Mines probably something similar... Epson 600 I think. Several years old.

Yeah its less complicated than a TV really - no tuner. I have it all running through a HDMI receiver for sound and source switching, and then a 30 ft long HDMI cable to the projector.

Only downside is fan noise, which hasn't bothered me yet.

I would expect as long as sound is up high enough it wouldn't be bad. The one I have/had (my buddy currently using it) would heat up a room to about 90 degrees in a about an hour and a half. Also not the highest quality as it's a bit dated. Definitely can see a projector being a good project seeing as how I have nothing better to do

I only really notice it during quiet scenes when its on eco mode, and thats probably because its right next to my chair at the moment. I've got ideas on a mount for it, but haven't gotten to that project yet (surprise surprise).

The latest and greatest is 4K, but I'm near sighted and wearing glasses to watch a movie sucks so 1080p is A-ok.

Same. I have to use em even with my tv being 6 feet away, so quality wouldn't make that big of a difference. For mounts I'm thinkin ceiling, but still need to pan that out

I was really hoping that commercial was going an entirely different direction.

I'm in a rental, so my options are limited. But I've got a banister in the perfect spot, just need to fab up a ilttle table thing. Ceiling would be the best option if you're okay with drilling holes.

Holes are okay. Banister is perfect if you can find a method of hooking it

I own an unreasonable number of ratchet straps.
