Drop bracket lift and booger welds
    Bad weld:

    Weld I’m happy with:

    So so weld.

    F0541F86-BF9E-4C75-B9DF-C43187DAF8E4.jpg

    I finished this today:

    073CCA42-4DF3-4822-AA1A-28327A2C4382.jpg

I am only half happy with it. Mostly because I built half of it with 6013 and a stick welder, so slag pockets are trapped in some corners. Then it wasn’t square, so I cut half of it apart and finished it after I got my MIG.

the speedglas is good. It’s more sleek than the elite so I find myself not hitting my head when working on things as much. I HATE how I always have to hit the on switch before welding with the speedglas, if you don’t hit the on button before welding it doesn’t auto darken and you get flashed.

I also find that the headgear on the speedglas is more comfortable than the elite with more adjustability. All in all both hoods are great choices. I’m gonna give the infinity a try next I think

A 3 year warranty on a auto dark lens is pretty good.

It just looked strange for a Hood that can be Found in Basic Black for $260.00

Friend told me to crank up the heat, and I think these are much better. Im using 035 wire, and the tube wall thickness is 0.120.

I was thinking the same thing, I was pretty sure you were going to figure it out on your own.

The 1st ones looked good. These look great.

Just finished a gate for where I park boat.

Making the Amazon "weldable gate hinge" a bracket to bolt to wood posts. This is about as pretty as my welds ever look.

Next time you replace the wire try 030. I like it a whole lot better in these small machines.

I have a speedglas as well and i love it except for this feature, mine never seems to go off though. I'll put it down for 20 mins after welding, go to grind something and it'll darken on me from the grinding sparks unless i switch the sensitivity. If the auto-off was a regular on-off switch i don't think i'd have any other issues with it

    Welds look fine.

Those are some good hinges, the only issue is if they don't get used, they will sieze up. I've repaired several trailers that use these. They freeze up, the gate gets dropped down and the hinges break or bend the trailer frame.

Oil them a couple times a year and they will never fail.

These ones have built in grease zerks they are super heavy duty and unbeatable imo for ~$20 for a pair. Pumped them full with the grease gun I use on my truck.

When I was a kid I could sit on a milk crate and work on on the ground on a (_insert piece of car/bike/homemade weapon_) all day long. After drilling all these f*#%ers I can barely stand up! Thank you Josh for the drill press loan!

I’m about 1/2 way on cutting/prepping all the pieces for the table legs and then welding begins.

I wish I could have found a piece of cold rolled. Am I going to be crying about all the scale??? I do not relish the idea of wire brushing all that off!

I do not envy you, even a little bit, from having to drill those holes.

You won't even notice the mill scale.

Beat that thing up like it owed you money.

I’ve regularly experienced this also. Always have to remind myself to swap to the glasses instead of flipping the hood down
