Yep, same thing happened to me a little over a year ago. I've always rotated on my own, torque wrench every time, dozens of cars now. But on this day the "click" at the preset 85 ft lbs never came. Never having experienced this before I kept turning it expecting it to tighten, then I felt the metal go soft and it popped right off.

Originally I replaced just that one. Several months later felt another one turning too far without clicking. Replaced them all after that. Haven't had an issue since then.

    Are those OEM?

I’d want super deluxe on all four corners.

Those of you not using a torque wrench, if you develop any vibrations, torque your wheels first before you go down a $$$$ rabbit hole.

If it's good enough for Walmart it's good enough for me.

It's obviously working for them, and I think it's fair to say they sell their fair share of tires.

If the 3rd gen drum brake is similar to 2nd gen, then there should be 1-2 spots with enough room to fit a wheel stud without much disassembly:

Wheel studs are actually fun. It's satisfying to beat them out.

I can visualize you guys in the garage with your girl sitting on a stool doing her nails . You tell her you are going to rotate the tires and when it's time you go for the torque wrench . You caefully wipe it off and tell her this is the critical part and if you don't get this shit right people will die and she says O my .

The studs are soft for sure. I had one break off on the rear on mine around 30k miles. I just replaced them all since it is stupid easy to do on the rear.

I forget if it's a 6 or 8mm bolt needed to get the drum off, but pop off the drum, rotate wheel bolts until hole is lined up and whack them out. Re-installation is even easier.
