Back in Arkansas for the time being. What I thought would be two weeks is now looking like it may carry through May. 'Hope y'all are well.

It's been a while since I posted updates on the rig. I wrapped the roof, installed the Victory 4x4 MOLLE panels, got the Victory bumpers fitted, added the CaliRaised switch panel and some additional switches, and got the Baja Design S8 installed. The winch should arrive in a few days.

We went up to Coursey’s to get some of their smoked meat, and found a trail near the Buffalo River that was pretty neat. Took dads 4R since we had the family and one of the dogs, but it was still fun exploring. B68F721C-4C75-413E-8883-FE13F1CE9A22.jpg
I think we might take both trucks back out for some more difficult trails this week.

I really have no idea, Im horrible at finding trails on the map we kind of just stumbled upon that one Saturday. I know before we looked on that trailsoffroad.com website, but there are very few on that website. I know there are tons out there, I just don't know how to find them.

@Doc's Rig Nice! I like the lo profile front bumpers. I think that's where I may end up. As much as I want a full bumper, they're heavy, and I wouldn't be able to fit in my garage. Does the victory one cover the cuts in the plastic?

I had been looking at the Relentless Fab Stealth bumper for a while, but pulled the plug on the lo pro. There were two primary reasons I selected Victory 4x4: 1) they are a MI based company and 2) the bumper required zero cutting, unlike SSO and C4. The Victory bumper isn't as streamlined (some say it doesn't flow with the lines as well as the other options), but it doesn't bother me. Installing the bumper took less than two hours. It took longer to wire up the light.

I thought I had firmed it up and would go with a Free Spirit, but I think I am pulling the plug on the iKAMPER Skycamp Mini (2-person). And it's already dirty so no worries there. I'm ready to head out.

Trying to stay positive during this furlough and get out into nature since I haven't had the opportunity lately. Went to the McIlroy Wildlife Management Area south of Eureka Springs yesterday. I never knew how many good secluded camping spots and trails there were there. Nothing very technical, but a lot of trails you can spend a lot of time on. Also hiked the King's River Overlook trail. Be aware, if you do this trail, the actual trail is what looks like the blocked off road, not the trail that leaves from the parking lot. I ended up taking the wrong trail and was below the bluff that I was supposed to be on top of. I didn't realize this until I ran out of bluff line to walk on on the level that I was on. I ended up having to scale up about 20' of bluff to get on the top to finish the hike. Very flat and easy hike with a nice pay off, if you take the right trail. The thing is, even on the "trail" I was on, I kept seeing what looked like worn spots where the trail should be as well as yellow caution tape on trees every so often. Oh well, I just took the secondary route, I guess. Also came across some strange "eccentric places south of Eureka Springs. If anybody is in NWA and out of work for now, let me know and we'll go find some more strange stuff together.

I've camped out there one time. A lot of the sites are close to the main roads, but there are some better ones further away from potential traffic. I saw the hiking trail you took, but luckily I guessed right and took the blocked off road. Great overlook at the end.

Unfortunately or fortunately I am able to work from home, saving my PTO for something a bit more interesting.
