I'm looking at getting a locking tailgate handle for my truck when I sort out the bed/tailgate situation.
It says "code-able". Does that mean I can use my current key that I use for the truck in the handle? It doesn't mention this in the instructions that I have.

Since there was no mention of Pop n lock in this post, I was curious what that part number is. It turns out that number is the Toyota part number for a Pop n lock. Apparently Toyota is buying them from Pop n lock and reselling them under their own part number. It would be interesting to know how the price and warranty compare to buying it directly from Pop n lock.

To answer the question, yes that means you stick your truck key in the lock and turn. It makes a horrible crunching breaking sound and then it’s keyed to your truck key.

I went to my local dealer and they said they can't get the part number I listed.

I ordered it off eBay this morning.

I would have ordered directly from pop n lock. From my understanding for they won’t handle warranty issues when bought from a 3rd party, you have to deal with the 3rd party instead of directly with pop n lock. May just make it more of a pain should you have an issue.

So here’s quick thought. Wonder if you can just take the pop n lock key cylinder and install it in the factory handle?
