A WDK (wife don't know) account is sometimes needed for toys and truck parts. Physically hiding things is a bit harder unless they don't know what they are looking at.

My wife was the one who had to bring in the suspension and wheels I ordered, sometime delivery dates don’t work in my favor.

Send to work or a buddies house. Problem solved. There are always workarounds.

I got busted at the physical part. She works evenings, so when the brown santa drops two packages at the front door step mid day, she immediately calls me and asks wtf I bought now. I should have shipped it to my work. I kinda keep a low revolving balance on my credit card so for her to see a continuous monthly payment to the CC company is kinda on the DL and not raising big flags to her.

I told my wife when we got married that we would budget a joint account for all of our home expenses and enough for savings and all the things we do together but keep separate accounts too so she can have money to blow on all the crafts and skin care and girl stuff she wants and I can have money for truck and gun parts. As long as it comes out of our personal accounts then spend it on whatever you want. If she wants to spend all of her money on overpriced purses and 20 different eye creams that all do nothing then so be it as long as I can buy another 5 boxes of ammo and 3 boxes of suspension parts without getting the stink eye.

We've made it 6 months without killing each other yet... getting shut down at work on Wednesday though so we will see how 14 days stuck at home together working on remodeling the house goes. :argue:

Thats basically what the wife and I have. Joint checking and savings. Then our own "savings". Then we also have a joint travel savings. Only real rule is if a purchase results in having a balance on a credit card to let the other person know

Our only thing is to try to use the Amazon Delivery Day thing at checkout for stuff we dont need right away. Mostly just to cut down on the waste from packaging than anything else.

We do similar, though not exactly because she's the stay at home mom. I essentially have two incomes from work. One goes to her and the household, the other is for me and our family adventures. Savings comes out of both incomes. It's worked for 9 years, though she's also pretty stingy when it comes to money. She'll tease me about some things I've bought, but she doesn't give me crap when it comes to tools.

Ive thought about that but then just realize that I would have to explain/ask for forgiveness anyways when she sees the charges on the debit/credit cards..fun times at my house on those nights.

Uhhhh it really hasn't changed anything. Most companies have been scraping by, and this just finally said stop it

Edit: essential personnel still get paid and less traffic!
