Are you talking about the Cherry Creek area? I used to ride dirt bikes out there quite a bit (haven't rode for a few years) and it was a blast. However, I don't know that there is all the much to "explore". The area is quite massive but is also used quite a bit, so you'd be with dirt bikes and those pesky sxs users all-day (probably not as bad as at the dunes).

Where did you get your flag from?

Is it required for our trucks too?

You can get the flags at any motorcycle shop, Rocky Mountain atv, or even at the station there at the dunes. Anything in the rec area (car, truck, bike, sxs, etc) requires a flag.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll look into getting a flag.

I don't claim to be any good at spelling. It's my kryptonite (had to Google spelling).

I don't recommend the area I was in (Big Sand Mountain?). Too many motorcycles and side-by-sides. Not the best place for a 6,000 lb Taco. I was thinking more of the area to the north. There were lots of trails out there and I have no idea where they go...

I believe the area I was in was Big Sand Mountain? Cherry Creek I believe was one of the camp grounds. I was thinking further north to explore and not so much in the park itself.

I borrowed the flag. I had no clue that it was required for ALL vehicles that are out on the dunes. Too many people running around. A motorcycle rider was ran over by a side-by-side. Life flight was called in. Apparently, this happens a lot. There was a sign near the entrance that said "2 Days Since Last Accident". It was a bit chaotic out there.

While I do get what you're saying, everyone will have an excuse. That was blatant disregard for everything thats going on right now. Hundreds - possibly a thousand shoulder to shoulder welcoming home hundreds (more?) home from out of the country. Child or not this is exactly what we've been asked not to do but because they're missionaries they get a pass? I mean come on. Whether you like it or not Mormons effect non-mormons lives substantially here in Utah, and sometimes you get a bad wrap for that by some people. Is that right? no. But it is what it is.

Do you have spacers for your tires so they don't rub on your UCA? Or how did you mitigate that?

I heard the biggest problems with the OEM wheels with bigger tires is rubbing on the UCA and people recommend spacers if I want to stick with the OEM wheels... I thought about the beadlock-style wheels that toyota has but I haven't really heard much about them.

I have a +3.5 long travel kit for the front, plus my wheel offset is a 4.75". The wheel offset is what is key for not rubbing on the UCA's. Check out this site..

I don't have any personal experience with spacers, but they're generally not a great mod as they add a bunch of potential complications. I know it's more money, but upgrading wheels to something with less backspacing is the ideal solution. The cheapest option is probably to go with a narrower tire, but it's hard to say what size you'd need.
