They didn’t have the algos to have drops this fast in past declines either. We might see just as quick of a recovery (or not, but possible).

 

I would like to see real data around that graphic. Sounds facebooky to me

 

I've been "in the market" through four of the six, including the current 2020.

Maybe this time will be different? I'm not sure human nature is gonna change though. The mix of what's profitable changes over time, but people still like to do the same things -- Go out, go on vacation, buy stuff, make more people, etc.

IMHO there's no question that we will recover. Just a matter of how long it'll take.

It looks like someone in our government wants to get this country back to work. That will, of course, include protecting those at risk (older folks, preexisting conditions, etc). He must have read my posts on this thread over the last few days

Oh well, I’m logging out and leaving it alone or I’ll get mad haha. I thought about selling today at about the 9:20 peak, but I’m gonna leave it. Forget the small profit. I’m gonna try and hold for several years. It seems like the market always peaks about 9:30 AM CST or right before. Not always, but it is a pattern that I see a lot.

 

Set a limit sale order for like $25 or $30. Ignore it. One day you'll have a large deposit into your account.

 

I’m finally even on AXP. It only had to go up 14%

I thought I was buying it cheap and getting a deal. Maybe long term.

 

I am waiting for some of my risky positions to get to even so I can rotate out of them into Blue Chips to just park the money there. I think I may be waiting a very long time, unfortunately.

 

I almost bought TDOC back when it was $44 a share

 

Who are your risky picks?

 

Mortgage REITs (ARI, CIM, LADR, NRZ), equity REITs (EPR, IRM), and BDCs (ARCC, MAIN).

They all paid great dividends, and still do for now, but some are down like 70%!

If they bounce back quick, I may just hang onto them, but I need to start putting money into safer companies going forward.
