Took delivery yesterday on a Cement 2020 DCSB Offroad Manual Transmission with Tech Package, LED Headlights, All Weather Mats with Door Sill Protectors, and Bed Lights. I placed an order for this truck on December 31st, and traded my 2018 Sport.

MSRP $38,107 dealer went down to $36,000 include the $1,500 incentive put the price at $34,500 plus TTL and dealer fees. I've seen better deals here but I left satisfied and love the new truck!

I got bored yesterday and got an email quote on a 2020 DCSB TRD Sport 4x4 with Premium Audio and Dynamic Navigation, Advanced Tech package, LED headlights, tonneau cover, mudguards, all weather mats and door sill protectors, and chrome exhaust tip. MSRP was $43.5k and they offered it at $37.9k. So right at 13% off. I haven't actually spoken to them to see if they can do better. It would be a pretty decent road trip, but it's exactly what I would want. I'm just weighing my options right now to see if it's something I really want to do. Thoughts?

A lot of confusion I think because some are comparing trucks with Tech vs. Advanced Tech, 6MT vs. AT, etc. without specifying and/or mixing them up.

Me thinks 41K-42K is in the ballpark of 39K.

Pretty good deal, I'm sure thats including the rebate and in the given situation I'm sure they are just throwing out their best deal to get business in. I paid $1.3k more, $39.2k and my MSRP was $44.8k.

You know minus that $2500 or the you know the $2000 automatic transmission option if we were going to make a fair comparison, so ya not really.

Exactly, if you were to compare the $39k I paid for my auto fully loaded OR (minus the $740 advanced tech package) that some alluded to as being close to Pro price, to an auto TRD Pro it would not be even close, auto is a $2k option, the example someone quoted of a $41.5k TRD PRO was a manual, auto is $2k additional right there. $39k vs. $43.5k not really close.

An automatic transmission was not an original stipulation. "wow 39k. that's close to pro price range"

Fine let's say I bought my truck as a manual instead, so $39.2k minus the $2k auto option is $37.2k. Ya thats not close to $41.5k.

TTL is no joke, I'm in SoCal. The rebate was taken off after TTL.

So I just ran a 2020 Pro vs. a "comparable" fully loaded 2020 OR (V6 4x4 AT DCSB with Premium & Advanced Tech packages and LED upgrade (no tonneau)) on Toyota's build site. This is with destination fee which is $1095 for my area apparently.

The TRD Pro (with destination) is MSRP $47,760; with 6MT $45,055
The TRD OR (with destination) is MSRP $44,500; with 6MT $42,230

Not sure if the Pro includes tonneau or not, doesn't let me pick either way.

Anyway, the MSRP difference between Pro and OR is ~$3k whether you get it with AT or 6MT. But the real difference I think is that it is pretty hard to get a Pro below MSRP (or even at MSRP for some!), whereas you can get 10% off an OR without too much problem. Together that puts it close to $7k difference between "real world" pricing on a Pro vs. OR. Now if you can get 10% or close off a Pro somehow, then I definitely can see the reasoning behind going with it! But if you can't, then OR might be better way to go and save the $7k.

Just my 2 cents but that sounds like it would be a really good deal considering Tacomas in general dont need many incentives to sell. Coming from your 2017 the power seat with height adjustment may be worth it in itself. I test drove one with seats to the floor and hated it. Drove a 2020 and adjusted height and leg support, totally different truck. If you're in a good financial position and corona isnt likely to affect your income, I'd say go for it. Happy hunting!

That region shouldn't be an issue (well at least prior to COVIDpocalypse).
