From what I've read, don't drill them. Use a punch instead. If you drill, it will make a mess of the hole.

 

from what I saw the rubber molding has a metal wire in the middle so I wonder if a punch tool will work?

ive seen guys using a dremel followed by using a drill. I just want to do it as clean as possible.

Do not drill the rubber molding. I tried this method following the video instructions and it was a shit show. Ended up cutting my molding real tight against the prinsu spacers and loading up the area with tons of silicone to prevent any pooling of water. My silicone sits flush with my molding and acts as molding essentially. The wire is pretty gnarly down the middle of the molding. If I were to do it again, I would go straight to cutting my molding, just measure it and remember you can always cut more if needed to make it tight against the spacers and less void.

 

At least I won't lose money
