It's funny you say that! My wife and I were in New Orleans back in November. Last I was there (only other time, actually) was as part of Task Force Katrina. My wife and I visited a Katrina museum. There wasn't much in there about the military aid that was provided, but still, it was strange and haunting to see an event that I was involved in memorialized in a museum. What was even crazier was seeing abandoned houses that still had marks on them indicating they'd been cleared, and thinking, "That may be a house I helped FEMA carry bodies out of." Gave me some really weird feelings.
I know, not really the point of your post, but the being part of an exhibition bit really resonated with me.

I like the idea of having a ton of common ammo for other reasons. Anyone that thinks they are going to shoot that much will die pretty quickly, probably because of other bad choices first. Anyway, ammo, especially in 9mm and 5.56, just became an extremely valuable commodity. If I have a surplus of ammo, I can use it to buy other things or services, even in times like this that are not anything like SHTF. Same is true for liquor and coffee, though it takes a while longer to deplete the supply.

It's in the Presbytere on Jackson Square in the French Quarter, if you ever go.
We started out at the airport, patrolling and giving people we met information on where they could go for food, water, and medical help. Eventually we transitioned to "guarding" the out of state first responders at Holy Cross College and escorting/helping FEMA teams with the body recovery effort. We rode out Hurricane Rita at the small Naval Depot, then headed out west to the Lafayette area and patrolled there before finally heading back to Bragg. It was an interesting month! Perhaps our paths crossed at some point.

Maybe so. We were there a lot longer then we thought. Seen some crazy stuff there. It was an experience to say the least.

I've never fished with any equipment, and usually front he bank. I have felt the pain of losing a musky lure a few times. The first one was in the first cast. I learned about the type of closure on the leader then. Tossed and watched it keep going damn near across the river.

Me too for the most part, has its pros and cons. Definitely happy I'm still able to work.

Sucks for the people that got laid off or had their income and/or businesses impacted.

Not a damn thing, except all our ongoing construction is dead in the water and we shipped a few immunocompromised managers home to work.
