So i would like to have the meetup still but i think that if you are feeling sick in the slightest you should just stay home. Places like @Bigdaddy4760 have is secluded so i feel like we would be safe there. But ultimately its up to him to invite us out. Other places like a brewery, restaurant, and parks are all closed so we just might have to wait till May.

I'm starting to see reports of people getting fined for camping because an area has been deemed "Shelter in place". I get the idea of staying home and "social distancing", but for real... How much more socially distant can you get than going camping? It's literally designed to remove you from other people...

The areas around Big Bend and Durango/Silverton have been doing this. Their idea is if they can restrict people from coming into their town, they can keep the virus out.

Doubt that will work, but we will see.

The idea is if you got it while wandering around Burleson you would likely not be the only one in that area with it, but if you drive down to Terlingua they may have been virus free before you introduced it. Also rural health infrastructure is not equipped to deal with Johnny Winnebago and his 70 socially distanced friends that felt fine on the drive down but now have a 103° fever and trouble breathing. Everytime you stop you increase the transmission risk so that hot breakfast, gas fill-up, beer stop increase the risk.

I understand, and agree. I just find the irony to be too great. "Everyone social distance. No, not like that.... You can't go there.... Don't do it like that...." I don't know, maybe I'm too cynical to trust the "system". I'm not looking to argue, I just think it's all weird.

With my excessive amount of free time lately I started reading about the Spanish Flu of 1918. Lots of similarities with response and lack of response and mortality rates reflected that. The current response isn't unprecedented and if it doesn't feel like an overreaction after it's over it will be because we didn't react properly.

From the numbers so far only one child under 15 has died and 99% of the deaths have been people over 50, a large percentage with pre-existing conditions. Most of use would be fine but bye bye grandparents if we don't keep a lid on this.

The hardest part is knowing what's wrong or right. There's so much information being thrown around and it's hard to know what's accurate. I'm looking at the CDC and WHO websites now, and even those aren't user friendly. I'm not a Sheeple, and try(in most cases) to do my own research, but in general I think society is stupid and will believe almost anything they see on FB. I got my ears lowered two weeks ago before the lockdown actually hit. I over heard a lady proudly state "I don't know what all the worry is, just eat a bunch of citrus fruits, that'll kill it!" I mean, it's not scurvy, soooo... might want to dig into your information a little deeper...

My company provided us a letter to show the authorities if I get stopped for breaking the shelter at home orders.

Thankfully, Total Wine and More is also considered an essential business so I could stop on my lunch break. :burp:

There is definitely a lot of conflicting information and much of the guidance may be an overkill. But it's not like your generic flu where you aren't contagious without symptoms, this is contagious for several days before symptoms show up and that's what makes it so hard. We have to assume everyone is infected because everyone could be infected. Wash your hands, don't touch your face, assume high touch areas have the virus on them, minimize contact as much as possible, nothing out of line with normal flu season but the fire is invisible.

It's likely more believable from Bell. I on the other hand went from Non-Essential to "we need you to guard the door to keep sick people out"

And just like that I am going to social distance my way down the the ranch. 4 days of being in the middle of 640 acres with not a soul (other than my dad) for miles.

Oooohhhhh.... who am I kidding????? I have to go down there to dig up the homemade septic system we put in 3 years ago.

Damn steel barrels already have rusted holes in them. Going to use plastic barrels this time. IMAG2934.jpg IMAG2932.jpg 20191111_074417.jpg
