One of my REITS (OHI) has suspended its dividend reinvestment and deferred cash payments. Put in a limit sell order on it today, needs to move up $6 a share. O is still holding strong. I'm going long on O, everything else is staying put in the portfolio for now. I'm thinking of buying some Boeing into an IRA but curious to see what the terms of the gov bailout is and if they even get included in that. The price may drop some more based off that news.

I am long O and plan to continue. I am even adding to that at these great prices. I don't consider it risky at all.

Edit: I am not sure what you mean about OHI, but I don't see any news that they suspended or cut their dividend? It looks like they're still paying it, at least in cash, to shareholders.

I think the house is close to a bill , I believe it is all down to the final padding of the pockets for the friends and family businesses of the house members . Then the Senators will have to do the same dance for a few days .
A lot of the pundits seem to agree that this rally will not hold so it is a good time to take some profits to raise cash for lower prices .
Locked and loaded for real panic coming up in the coming weeks .

Day traders do the most at the open so 930 to1030 and then 3 to 4 is when the most activity happens. Supposedly.

that’s the stuff. But you also need to look at returns over time. If it takes 4 years for 10% that’s not worth it.

I temporarily saw 4900% profit on my call when Norwegian was going crazy this morning. Just wish I could have sold it haha:

Nope. I would say YouTube has info. I follow a local guy on discord. Put some play money in Robinhood and I've been trying to learn as much as possible.

It happens. That's why I'm not putting any significant money in until I have an idea of what I'm doing.

This was a very low risk option. I have two Royal Caribbean options as well I'm farting around with. All in only gambling $19. Figured it was worth the risk to learn a bit and maybe make some profits.

Im predicting a 1500+ point drop tomorrow.

Good part about 2020 taxes is between business expense writeoffs and loss selling writeoffs, I probably wont owe these thieving bastard tax collectors for the 2nd year of 10 since becoming a DINK. That may extend into 2021!! Theres a bight side to evreything!!

Someone suggested throwing money at Carnival last week and the stock price has doubled since I read that and I'm kicking myself for not doing it

I know nothing about stocks but recently sold my house (currently living with my in-laws while I wait to close on my new one) and have some free cash on hand and want to take advantage of the current down market. I just keep getting cold feet when it comes time to press BUY :anonymous:

Do not invest any more you would need within 6 months or a year from now. A lot of volatility.

We all discussed CCL on here. I admittedly chickened out too, but I think someone bought it. I was thinking more of a plan to get in now, and wait a few years. Still on the fence about it.

I am only talking $1-2k of money to play with...

That is my plan too, not necessarily a quick cash, grab but I don't want to look back in a few years and think about what could've been

    That's a hint.

I wouldn't be putting any cash into the market these days which I might need in the next couple years.

Play volatility with money you can stand to lose. You're essentially gambling.

Especially now since we are essentially in uncharted economic waters.

I've played some of the volatility with CCL and it's paid off.

but again I'm following my own advice. Just a bit of play money. Proceeds to buy whiskey

I did move a chunk of IRA cash into a market index fund a couple days ago. Will probably move some more in soon. That's stuff I'm not needing for many years.

Make it a hobby. How much do you spend on bikes, woodwork, etc? Set that as your stock hobby. Every month, say, 100$, can go into whatever interface you use. That can either go up, or down. If it goes up, reinvest your earnings. If it goes down, woops - just hold onto the stock anyway? At the end of the year, make the call - do you pull earnings, leave them in, etc etc.

But at the end of your 100$ for the month, don't put in more from your bank. Or whatever amount you choose. Only reinvest earnings from trades. That's the way I'd see it as day/short term trading. I tried with robinhood a few months (years?) back. I might give it a whirl again once the truck is paid off, and I have a 6 month e-fund set up. Currently at 3.5 months been working on that.

it depends how the news goes overnight. Today was because of a forward look expecting stimulus. If it is released overnight that it is agreed and executed, tomorrow will skyrocket, probably more than today. If they announce another disagreement, bye bye earnings. If they say they've reached an agreement but need to sign, etc etc then we'll see a stable rise like after today's opening.
