I'm sure someone here has put a 40 series on a v6 1st gen. If so, how did you like it? I've watched several videos of 3.4's with it and it seems to sound great, especially at low RPM'S.

The 3.4 does have like the slightest hint of a clean bellow type sound, and i'm hoping this will accentuate it well.

Only thing i'm really worried about would it sounding like a ricer at high rpm's, but then again, i've never needed to get it above 3 grand for any reason whatsoever, so...?

I have the 40 series delta flow. It’s the quietest of the 40 series mufflers. Sounds great, would recommend.

This is my super 44 series on a cold start if it’s any help. 3” pipe from the muffler out. Little bit on the louder side.

ive had the 40. sounds great as long as you dont get too high in the revs. the 44 is a better choice imo though

It doesn't throw a check engine light, does it?

I had one on my 1999 Tacoma.
It sounded good at low RPM and Idle.
“Buzz” in upper RPM. It was OK.

I’m old(er) now. I would not put one on again.

It didn’t help with any MPG or Power that I could tell.

Mine did not throw any codes.

Is the video not working? I rev it a couple times during the video. I personally like how it sounds. Lower rumble compared to the 40 series imo. I also have a 3” pipe from muffler out instead of 2.5 which I’m pretty sure is the stock diameter. I’ll upload a takeoff video from the cab soon.

Yes it was a cold start. I’ve never really bothered to rev it to 3-4 rpm but I’d like to know myself too. If I remember I’ll take a video tomorrow with longer revs.
