Long day of staying out of trouble while you are home...

 

I have moved into our home office and the cats come to see me often. Yesterday Arthur had some fun with a squirrel outside the window.



Henry continues to do well on his meds, and Ginger approves of the recent Chewy.com delivery.

Update on Solo, he continues to gain weight (albeit slowly). His upper respiratory infection lingers on but getting less severe. His ears have started the transition from little round mouse ears to pointed cat ears. He is 3 weeks and 2 days old today. Momcat is doing well, she’s a little scatterbrained but very sociable.

 

Keep at it and he'll be be the most adorable and affectionate furball you'll ever know.

 

Yes, he will be exactly that for someone. We have a houseful of rescues in the indoors, additional feral rescues that are outdoor cats (all the ferals are TN&R) so cannot take in any more permanent rescues.

We figured we can still make an impact and decided to became volunteer fosters for a local facility last year (a no kill shelter). It’s extremely difficult to give the little one up, but our role is to get the kittens healthy, socialized, and get their weight gain up to at least 2 pounds. At that size they can be spayed/neutered and put up for adoption. Last year we fostered 5 litters...I’ll admit some tears are shed when it is time to give them back.

I will add a shameless plug to help support your local shelter in any way you can. COVID 19 has impacted shelter activities to drive adoption days and SIP and social distancing limits the number of potential adopters from visiting the shelter.

Thanks for the likes, kitten season is in full swing now where we live and expect to continue through late fall.
