Yeah, only ~1k in parts and the programming, but I ultimately decided not to mess with that, and decided that will be a factory req. Maybe when I need a new vehicle the next time around it'll be more commonplace. It's really annoying GM dragged their feet, they had the tech but I can only assume waited/are waiting for a year where they don't know what to do to put it in >:| If the Diesel Z71 had ACC, I'd be game. GM is finally putting it in their silverados at some trims, not all though. That's one thing I liked about Toyota, they drop it across the board.

I've read some good ones too. I'm sure people have messed up some important stuff just trying to change the door chime. I would definitely want to disable the door chime "doo doo doo...doo doo doo" so annoying. And my work bag sets off the passenger seatbelt a lot in my tacoma it's annoying.

When I was younger, one of my grand parents had a Crown Vic or Town Car with the keypad. He used to bet me I couldn't guess the code. I usually had the code guessed in no time. I don't trust how secure they are.

Sierra has all the goodies except heated steering wheel or cooled seats, which I'd love both. Heated seats are great. Bed lights, remote start, height adjustable seats and pedals... it's been a great truck. Just don't think I'll want it for more than 5 years due to rust!

Oh, no keypad, I'll bet that's awesome but I've never had it so I don't miss it.

I do have the GM app that can open the doors but it doesn't seem 100% reliable.

A heated steering wheel is money. I could care less about heated seats, I almost never use them (but, they do keep the GF happy) but I bet I've used that heated steering wheel just about every morning over the last two winters

I used to have a stick shift back in high school. Like an idiot, I put an aluminum shift handle on it. That thing was DAMN cold in the winter. 20 years later, I still consider that the dumbest 'upgrade' I ever did to a vehicle but I was too stubborn to take it off also.

I had heated seats in the mazda, leather. I don't have leather now, and have so far been okay without the heated seats. Thought that was going to be a first upgrade. I do have remote start, but used it mostly just to keep the dog warm in the winter or in the past couple weeks, cool/breezy when I run into a store.

I don't want a heated wheel. I know if I got one, I'd never be able to not have one :p I have android/apple, adaptive cruise, I'm a happy man. No more sunroofs, that's for sure.

I spent $60 on a high-flow K&N knockoff air filter for a slow-ass 2.2 litre 3-speed K car in high school. That's probably my most useless mod, historically speaking. :notsure:

My Tacoma didn't have much. My 4Runner feels like a luxury vehicle compared to what my Taco had.

The Connecticut Governor has announced the early opening of inland fishing season:

Yeah it is just my wife and the 2 smallish dogs so the access cab was perfect and what I wanted. I wanted the 6' bed so if I had too I would have bought a DCLB. I do use the back seat area for my access cab a good amount for random stuff so it is nice to have.

My other vehicle is 2004 Jeep TJ Wrangler. Manual everything so my Taco is luxury to me with the power driver seat, windows, and tech package.

My daily is a 2011 Tundra TRD Rock Warrior. Has power windows, locks, mirrors, heated side mirrors, and a couple other things. I added remote start. It's nice, but my first truck every that I had in high school was a 88 Toyota Pickup that was so base model it had a blank where the clock was. Only option was the v6 on that truck. So minimal options has never bothered me and usually makes it easier to work on and less to go wrong

That's exactly why I love my Jeep. So easy to work on things and cheap without too much hassle. Man I would love a late 80s Toyota pickup to just beat on. Trucks back then were built like tanks...

Both manual everything except power steering, and brakes... survive me as a teen, and in the case of my s10... into my 20s

Ive been half-hearted looking for a project, either a TJU with a 6spd, or a SJ/J10.... but, not until all this blows over.

Id love to get my hands on an old 22r solid axle yota or T4R.... but...

I'm the exact opposite. The wife's Jeep has the wheel and seats. Both are activated with the remote start. I almost immediately shut it off when I get in. I just typically don't pay enough attention to notice the difference. I mean, I guess I'd prefer lukewarm over cold, but it doesn't need to be hot for me to enjoy it. I wish her seat heaters got warmer though as those are pretty weak compared to the Tacoma. The Tacoma is awesome because with the manual I can't run a remote start on it. I basically start it, sit in the garage for maybe 30 seconds and then keep the revs below 2,000 or so until the temperatures come up. I miss having an oil pressure / temperature gauge like I did in the Subaru. I'd never get on it until the oil pressure dropped at idle, which usually roughly corresponded to oil temperature. I liked it more when I had the oil gauge as well.

I had two different ones, an ITR knockoff by Vibrant and then a Trust GRex. Both were an iron or Popsicle depending on the day. I have to believe the Grex is worth something these days since they don't make them anymore and I only had mine for a month or so before the car was totaled.

EDIT: A quick Ebay shows they're in the $150-200 range. Nifty. I don't think I'll sell it though since it's one of the few parts I still have from that car.
