On 34s now and just finished changing to 5.29s in my A/T DCSB. Was a dog on the 34s and would not do the 35s without the gears. 5.29s are an upgrade I wish I would have done sooner. Almost ready for the tires to go on.

What a good time to have diffs ready to go in! Are you doing the swap yourself? The front diff is plenty fun

Got them in this weekend, back took 2 hours, front 6. Not tough at all. took me more time to swap the passenger axle tube to the new dif than remove and replace. Some good videos out there and tips and trick. Damn skid plate was a pain. had one of the staked blind nuts come loose and was a bitch to get a wrench on it.

Took me the same amount of time for the front. Wasn't fun putting it in alone. Do you know what the total was after you get back your core charge?

5.29s front and rear, ARB locker in the front, ARB dual compressor, manifold, passenger CV seal, Lucas gear oil and solid spacer. The price includes two way shipping. $3,137. The 5.29 mega thread has lots of info on cost and process. Just shipped the cores back Monday, so far process with ECG has been great.

The picture with the tire on the scale. Is that with or without the wheel? I have been looking at these for my other truck and have been curious about the weight.

    They weigh roughly 68lbs, +/- .5lbs

    Without rim. Just tire.

@Glenn_R Could you please measure that tire/wheel combo for me please? Accurate height and width, no load as in not mounted to truck. Please use a straightedge/level down to ground and overall width (and also what size wheels are they (I don't have all the method wheels memorized). I wanna know how true the tires are to advertised.

    Thanks!

Mounted and pressurized to 35PSI. 34.75", 97.8Lbs, section width 11.25". They seem to measure true to the specs on the Kenda site. Wheels: Method Race 105 True bead-lock, 17x8.5, 0mm offset/4.75 backspace.Wheel is advertised to weigh 30lbs, tire alone weighed 67.5lbs.

Awesome, Thanks a lot! very good confirmation. It is one of the taller "35's" out there (most are actually 34.5 and down), and, it is significantly wider than a 10.5, more similar to a 285 width. This is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Now if Walmart would roll back the price!!

I may just order now, and then watch for a rollback and a refund...

I would say the tread width is 9.5 to 10" depending on where you measure. sectional width is about spot on.

Awesome. My 285/75/16 Duratracs (which are not working out well for my truck by the way) are 11.0" wide, and treadwidth of right at 9". I am super excited about the Kever RTs, they are the right dimensions for a Tacoma looking to go with 35's IMO.

On your truck, do you have control arms pushed forward for MAX caster, and corrected with SPC uppers? I do, and even still had to do some clearancing on the cab mount and fender of my 2nd gen. I am wondering if I should chop max out of my cab mount, along with the fender and accompanying wheel well bashing, or just cut the cab mount off and use an Alpine Designs cab relocate kit to make it easier and more clearance. I will be eager to hear how your clearance is with this tire wheel combo and that amount of the OEM cab mount chop.

Thanks again for the real world data.

With the LCA maxed out forward and the SPC in position E I have 4 degrees of caster and plenty of room with a standard CMC. This is 3rd gen so not sure about a 2nd gen. My biggest clearance issue with this set up was the driver side wheel well below the battery. Took a lot of bashing in that area. I am making this work at full stuff, if I increased the size of the bumpstop I would of not needed to do that.

This is stuffed against the stock bump stop. No issues here or turned max left. The issue was when turned max right the top of the tire was hitting the top of the fender well. A lot of beating fixed most of that. I may need to cut battery mount out and reshape the fender
well, then fab a battery box.

With 4.75 backspace, are you worried about rubbing frame or lower control arm at the rear? My 285’s on 4.59 backspace do at full lock with load and turning forces or reversing, but not even very close with the truck static. Although every truck /tire combo is different.

Rear isn't close, front top of fender well is the worst spot. Two inches of clearance at the cab mount. Even have room with mud flap. Moving the LCA max forward gives you lots of room in the back. I took the shock out so I could move the suspension full travel.
