After a few months of waiting for parts, I finally got it all put together and on the truck today!

    Wow! It feels good!

I ordered the low and high light from CH4x4 and the wiring ended up being different than I expected, but I made it work. I will still get a different middle switch to go with the factory theme.

I know it looks kind of jank in the photos, but I cleaned it all up once I tested everything and made sure it worked as expected.

What a process, but so gratifying! I learned so much and have gained so much more understanding and confidence through the process. Thanks to the OP!

Your main ground cable should be on one of the buss bars instead of the Bussman ground lug unless you have an equally thick cable connecting them to the Bussman as well. The reason is that even with all of the relays on at the same time only about 1/2A flows through the internal ground buss in that configuration. All of your accessory current flows through the external ground busses so that’s where your main battery ground cable should go.

I see these in my sleep now so it’s pretty obvious even looking at it from the top. Easy fix though just glad you posted this sooner rather than later.

Your situation points why the disclaimer is in the op. It’s so easy to put something together that looks right but isn’t. In your case you would have had to have enough accessory current to overload that smaller ground wire from the Bussman but even a 10awg wire would fail long before the 80 breaker tripped if ever making the breaker false security.

Yea, totally understood all the reasons for the disclaimer. Along with buying all the parts, I bought a nice fire extinguisher and prepped myself to disconnect everything quickly. Thanks again!

Is it possible to change wire gauges across the metripack/weatherpack connectors used in this setup. For example have a 12awg wire on the female side and a 18awg wire on the male side of a connection.

Yes, that was one of the key parameters of tacozord’s design. By making all of the Bussman’s side of the connectors have maximum capability you can safely connect anything less robust to each of its circuits as long as you fuse for the thinner downstream wire. The only difference in the different connector terminals is how much copper will fit into the wire crimp, the cable seal crimps and male/female portions of each terminal are the same. The cable seals have different ID’s to accommodate the different wire sizes. Hope this helps.
