Has anyone done this retrofit? I am trying to figure out the best way to do it without making too big of a hole in the back of the reflector for the shrouds to cover and am looking for some ideas. I am using the gatling gun shrouds. They are the Mini D2S 4.0 projectors.

What's funny? Those are very big. You would need to cut the bare minimum that will fit the lense on so you will have the most room possible on back of housing when installing

itl be tight but possible. you have to cut the hell outa the housings though. gota install the bulbs before hand because its not possible when installed. you can shift battery over some and use heat gun to soften and push in airbox if you need some extra space.

hardest part will be the getting the shrouds to fit in tight to lens. you can see the difference between the MINI gatling on h1 vs the bigger shrouds. dimensionally the new ds2 is about same length as the h1s.

Why not run the Mini h1? It's a great little projector and it's come a long way from version 1.0

You need to make sure you have bulb and igniter hooked up before installing

    I used the minis.
The mini h1 7.0 actually fits pretty well without pushing into the battery.
The mini 7.0 is smaller in length than the D2S.

So it doesn’t push into the battery. I’ve been pretty happy with the swap.

I used glass and metal housing (buckets) with the 5500 k bulbs, not plastic housing, not plastic lens,

Just ordered the XTR HID (Philips XV2 4800K) bulbs today.

The Philips is rated at 1050 lums, I think it’s the highest rated bulb for the mini
The 5500k is rated at 750 lums

Ok, though u had D2S, I guess it will depend on the housing bucket after its modified, with buckets and the mini fits for me with no issues
Also replaced the old gray dust covers with new black ones that cover the complete wires now in the back.
Was a time consuming project trying to get everything figure out, the parts and steps.
